The OnePlus Nord 6 is the stronger specification-led pick for a high-refresh-rate screen and larger listed battery; the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G offers a higher-resolution main camera, faster stated wired charging and a lower reported launch price at the matching 8GB/256GB tier. Gadgets 360 reported India launch prices of ₹38,999 for the Nord 6 and ₹37,999 for the Redmi— a ₹1,000 gap, not a confirmed current-price difference. [Gadgets 360]

| Decision point | Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G | OnePlus Nord 6 | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chipset | Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 [Xiaomi India] | Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 [OnePlus India] | OnePlus lists the higher-tier Snapdragon family designation. The naming alone does not quantify the performance gap. |
| Display | 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED, 2772 × 1280, up to 120Hz; 3200-nit peak brightness [Xiaomi India] | 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED, 2772 × 1272, 165Hz; 1800-nit HDR brightness [OnePlus India] | The Nord supports a higher refresh rate; Xiaomi lists a higher peak-brightness figure. Those brightness figures may use different methods, so they are not a direct comparison. |
| Rear cameras and video | 200MP OIS main camera plus 8MP ultrawide; rear video up to 4K at 30fps [Xiaomi India] | 50MP Sony main camera with dual-axis OIS; the official page lists a 32MP front camera and 4K at 60fps video. Gadgets 360 reports an 8MP ultrawide rear camera. [OnePlus India] [Gadgets 360] | Redmi has the higher stated main-camera resolution. That does not, by itself, prove better photos. |
| Battery and charging | 6500mAh battery, 100W charging; Xiaomi lists an adapter in the package [Xiaomi India] | 9000mAh battery, 80W charging; OnePlus claims up to 26.9 hours of YouTube playback under its stated test conditions [OnePlus India] | Nord has greater listed capacity; Redmi lists faster charging and explicitly includes the adapter. Capacity is not a real-world battery-life test. |
| Ingress protection | IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K; Xiaomi cautions that water resistance depends on laboratory conditions [Xiaomi India] | IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K claimed on the product page [OnePlus India] | Both advertise multiple protection ratings. They do not mean damage is impossible; follow the terms and care guidance for your model. |
| Software support | HyperOS 3; Xiaomi describes Android 15 and four OS-upgrade years plus six security-update years [Xiaomi India] | Four Android OS updates and six years of security updates [OnePlus India] | Both describe four years of OS updates and six years of security support; rollout timing and precise regional terms should be checked with the manufacturer. |
| India launch price, 8GB/256GB | ₹37,999 [Gadgets 360] | ₹38,999 [Gadgets 360] | The reported Nord launch price was ₹1,000 higher. These are launch figures, not live October 2026 prices. |

Which phone is the better fit?
Choose the OnePlus Nord 6 for its listed display refresh rate and battery capacity
The Nord 6’s 165Hz panel and 9000mAh listed battery make it the more specification-focused option if those are your priorities. OnePlus also lists a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 platform. Its product page’s gaming and endurance figures are OnePlus Test Lab claims, not independent side-by-side results; the stated YouTube figure is up to 26.9 hours under OnePlus’s test conditions. A higher refresh-rate ceiling may suit supported games and smoother scrolling, but it does not guarantee a particular game will run at that rate or establish a real-world gaming advantage.
Choose the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G for stated camera resolution and charging speed
Xiaomi lists a 200MP OIS main camera, an 8MP ultrawide, a 6500mAh battery and 100W charging, with the adapter included in the listed package. Those specifications favour buyers who value the higher stated main-camera resolution or faster charging on paper. They cannot establish superior image quality, actual charge times or endurance without comparable independent testing.

Neither is a proven camera or gaming winner from specifications alone
The available product specifications and price report do not provide matched camera samples, battery run-down measurements or benchmark results for the exact India retail variants. Megapixel counts and chipset labels are not substitutes for those comparisons. Check independent tests of the same regional models if camera output or sustained gaming performance is decisive.

Both brands advertise IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K protection ratings for the India models. Xiaomi specifically says water resistance depends on laboratory conditions and is not assured outside them. Do not treat an IP rating as a promise that water damage cannot occur; check the manufacturer’s conditions and warranty terms before exposing either phone to water.
