On published specifications, the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G has the larger battery, faster wired charging, a 200MP main camera and a taller, higher-resolution screen. The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite offers a 120Hz AMOLED display, a microSD slot, a more distinctive design and, at launch, a lower price in the UK and Australia. Neither phone is a universal winner, and a current price difference cannot be stated without fixing the market, storage tier and exact Redmi variant first.
Start with the right Redmi model
“Redmi Note 15 Pro” is not one product. Xiaomi publishes separate official pages for the Redmi Note 15 Pro (4G) and the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G, and the two differ in network support and durability ratings. Several comparison pages blur the names, so check the model before comparing any figure.

This article compares the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G against the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite. The 5G model is the one that appears in the most detailed independent comparisons and reviews, so it gives the most complete side-by-side picture. Where Xiaomi’s 4G page establishes a difference that matters, it is noted separately.

The table uses the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G and the single Phone (3a) Lite model. Where a figure differs between publications, the source is named. “Not stated” means the sources reviewed for this article do not give that value.

Design, display and build
The Phone (3a) Lite’s main differentiator is its design. Nothing describes the phone as “crafted for a generation tired of the ordinary,” which is a marketing line rather than an independent judgement. The phone measures 164×78×8.3mm and weighs 199g, according to TechRadar’s launch coverage. Dimensions for the Redmi are not stated in the sources reviewed, so a size comparison in hand cannot be made from these figures.
On screens, the Redmi is the larger and sharper panel on paper: it is listed at 6.83 inches and 1280×2772, against roughly 6.77 inches and 1080×2392 for the Nothing. Both use AMOLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate. Pixel density and brightness are not measured in the sources reviewed, so the difference in sharpness should be read as a resolution figure, not a verified visual result.
Cameras: megapixels are only the starting point
The Redmi lists a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor, while the Nothing uses a 50MP main camera with optical and electronic stabilisation. A higher megapixel count does not by itself indicate better photos. Sensor size, pixel processing, lens quality and software all affect results, and the sources reviewed here do not include controlled independent photo tests for either phone. The Nothing’s extra macro lens is the one camera difference that depends on the hardware list rather than the megapixel figure.

Battery, charging and endurance
The Redmi has the larger battery (6,580mAh against 5,000mAh) and the faster wired charger (45W against 33W). That is a reasonable indicator of potential endurance, but battery capacity does not translate directly into measured screen-on time, since software, display settings and the processor all change the result. The Redmi has no wireless charging, and the Nothing charger is not included in the box.
A third-party comparison reports two battery-test durations, 13h 06m and 14h 22m, and Geekbench multi-core scores of 2,967 and 2,938 for the two phones. The methodology behind these figures is not described in the page content, and the scores are nearly identical. Treat them as unverified and do not use them to rank either phone.
Durability and water resistance
The ratings in this area depend on the variant, so keep the model name attached to each one:

- Redmi Note 15 Pro (4G): Xiaomi’s official page lists IP65. The page describes splash and dust resistance under specific laboratory conditions, and states that liquid damage outside those conditions is not covered by warranty.
- Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G: Xiaomi advertises IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K, and says the model passed a TÜV SÜD two-metre, 24-hour water-resistance test.
- Phone (3a) Lite: Android Central reports IP54, which covers splash resistance rather than submersion.
An ingress rating describes performance under test conditions. None of these ratings is a reason to expose either phone to water, and the rating of one model should not be applied to another.
Software and support
Both phones ship with Android 15 under their own interface layers: HyperOS 2 on the Redmi and Nothing OS 3.5 on the Nothing. TechRadar’s review of the Redmi 5G reports smooth day-to-day use, occasional frame drops in Genshin Impact, and criticism of bloatware and notification handling. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a benchmark.
The support promises differ in form. The Redmi 5G’s four years of OS updates and six years of security patches are reported by TechRadar for the reviewed market, so confirm current regional terms before treating them as universal. Nothing promises three major Android upgrades and six years of security patches.

Price: what can and cannot be compared
UK and Australia launch and review pricing
TechRadar’s review gives the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G at £349 / AU$699 for 8GB+256GB and £399 for 12GB+512GB, and notes that the model was not sold directly in the US at the time of review. TechRadar’s launch coverage gives the Phone (3a) Lite at £249 / AU$439 for 128GB and £279 / AU$489 for 256GB, with no US availability at the time of that coverage.
These figures were taken at different times, one from a 2026 review and one from 2025 launch coverage, and they cover different storage tiers. Subtracting one from the other gives a number that describes neither phone today. Use them as launch and review reference points only.

91mobiles displayed ₹31,999 for the Redmi and ₹28,200 for the Nothing when its comparison page was accessed, with Amazon-linked offers. Storage mismatch in comparison pages
91mobiles lists 128GB of internal storage for both phones. That does not match TechRadar’s Redmi 5G configurations of 256GB and 512GB, so storage on the Redmi listing needs to be confirmed before any price is compared.
What comes in the box
Xiaomi’s 4G page lists a protective case in the box, and regional package contents can vary. Nothing coverage reports a case and a pre-applied screen protector, again with possible regional variation. The Nothing charger is sold separately. Check the listing in your market before assuming any accessory is included.
Which one to buy
The right choice depends on what you care about most. Neither phone wins on every measure, and the published specifications do not establish one overall winner.
