It gives up wireless charging, fast USB data, and an LTPO display to get there. Whether it is the right buy depends mainly on the price in your market.

Which X200 this review covers
The specifications below come from vivo India’s official product specification page, which is the primary source for the India model. vivo Global publishes a separate page with its own charger and water-resistance details. Regional network bands, availability, and sometimes hardware can differ between markets, so treat the India figures as India-specific.

Camera: where it leads and where it slips
The camera system is the reason to consider this phone. It has three 50 MP rear cameras, and the telephoto is the standout because it provides true optical zoom rather than a cropped digital zoom.
| Lens | Specification (India) | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Main | 50 MP Sony IMX921 with OIS | Everyday stills and video |
| Ultra-wide | 50 MP, 119-degree field of view, autofocus | Groups, landscapes, tight interiors |
| Telephoto | 50 MP Sony IMX882 with OIS and 3x optical zoom | Portraits and framing from a distance |
| Front | 32 MP | Selfies and video calls |
91mobiles gave the camera category 8.4/10 and described both stills and video as strong. It praised detail, the portrait modes, the range of focal lengths, and low-light results. Its reviewer also found two weaknesses: portrait rendering can look attractive while producing an inaccurate complexion in harsh sun, and white balance is sometimes inconsistent in video. Those observations come from one reviewer’s shooting and should not be read as a guarantee for every scene.
Smartprix made similar points. It praised the main camera and the 3x zoom, but noted occasional inconsistency in HDR and color. If you shoot mostly in high-contrast outdoor light, judge the HDR behavior on the phone itself before committing.
Battery and charging
The 5800 mAh capacity and up-to-90 W charging are official specifications. What matters more is how the phone performed in the two hands-on tests, because each publication ran its own measurements under its own conditions.
| Measure | Result reported | Source and conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Day-to-day endurance | Lasted a full day under the reviewer’s use | 91mobiles, January 2025; usage pattern not specified in the summary |
| Full charge with bundled charger | About 38 minutes | 91mobiles, January 2025; reviewer’s test |
| Average screen-on time | 6.5 to 7 hours | Smartprix, 2025; reviewer’s reported use |
| 5% to full | About 43 minutes | Smartprix, 2025; reviewer’s test |
Treat these as indicators, not promises. Screen brightness, network signal, and app load will change your results. The phone’s build also drew praise: 91mobiles said it keeps a sleek design while carrying a chunky 5,800mAh battery.
Performance, throttling, and software
Performance in daily use and games
91mobiles found the phone responsive in daily use, multitasking, and gaming. Its Burnout CPU Throttle test, however, suggested possible problems under severe sustained workloads. Smartprix reported strong gaming performance in the titles it tested, but also noted limits in its benchmark and stress-test results. Both sets of scores belong to those reviews’ conditions and software versions, so they do not establish how a particular game will run on your unit.
Funtouch OS 15 and preinstalled apps
Reviewers found Funtouch OS 15 smoother than earlier versions, but both 91mobiles and Smartprix criticized the number of preinstalled third-party apps. 91mobiles also described AI features as limited. The phone is not a clean-software device, so budget time for uninstalling or disabling apps you will not use.

Update commitment
91mobiles reported a commitment of four years of major Android updates and five years of security updates for the market it reviewed in early 2025. Update policies change, so check vivo’s current regional policy before relying on that promise.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Display, build, and included accessories
The 6.67-inch 120 Hz AMOLED panel was praised for brightness and overall quality. The main display complaints are that it lacks an LTPO panel, which Smartprix and India Today both noted, and that Smartprix found colors slightly oversaturated. The phone also feels slippery in the hand according to Smartprix, which mentioned the transparent case included in the box. A membrane screen protector is pre-applied, so you may not need one straight away.
The India specification page lists a charger in the box, so budget only for accessories you actually want.
Water resistance: read the conditions
The IP68 and IP69 ratings are real, but they are laboratory qualifications. vivo Global states they were tested under controlled laboratory conditions and that resistance may decline through daily use. Do not treat the rating as permanent protection, and assume that accidental water damage is not covered by the rating alone. Check your warranty terms for water damage in your market.

Who should buy the vivo X200
- Buy it if you shoot a lot of telephoto portraits, want a bright large display, and need long battery life.
- Buy it if you are comfortable using a phone with a heavy preinstalled app load, or if you are willing to remove those apps.
- Skip it if you need wireless charging, because the standard X200 does not support it according to multiple reviews.
- Skip it if you transfer large files often, since the phone uses USB 2.0.
- Skip it if an LTPO display is important to you.
- Compare it with rivals at the same price. The reviews cite the OPPO Find X8 and Google Pixel 9 as relevant alternatives.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Three 50 MP rear cameras, including a 3x optical telephoto with useful portrait modes.
- Bright, 120 Hz AMOLED display.
- Strong daily performance and capable gaming, with workload caveats.
- Large 5800 mAh battery and fast wired charging.
- IP68 and IP69 ratings, subject to the laboratory caveat above.
Cons
- No wireless charging on the standard model.
- USB 2.0 instead of a faster data connection.
- No LTPO panel.
- Preinstalled third-party apps and limited AI features in Funtouch OS 15.
- Inconsistent HDR, color, and video white balance, plus portrait skin tones that can look inaccurate in harsh light.
Verdict
The vivo X200 is a good buy for someone who wants a versatile camera system, a bright large display, strong everyday performance, and long battery life. It is a weaker choice for anyone who needs wireless charging, faster USB transfers, an LTPO panel, or a cleaner software experience.
Reviewers gave it strong but not uniform scores: 8.1/10 from 91mobiles and 8.5/10 from Smartprix. Those are each publication’s own ratings and should be weighed against the specific trade-offs above. Price decides the final call. If the phone sells near its listed price in your market, it is competitive; if the price sits closer to rivals with better software or charging features, the X200 loses much of its appeal.
