The Xiaomi 17T is the larger-screen choice, with 12GB RAM, storage up to 512GB and a 5x periscope camera. The OPPO Reno16 5G is smaller and lighter, and pairs three 50MP rear cameras with a 50MP autofocus selfie camera and up to 80W charging. An India comparison listing showed a ₹3,000 price gap, but prices change; neither phone is a universal winner based on specifications alone.

How the display, size and storage differ
The Xiaomi’s 6.59-inch panel gives it the larger screen, while the OPPO’s 6.32-inch display sits in a smaller, lighter body. Both are AMOLED panels rated up to 120Hz; the listed resolution is 2756 × 1268 for Xiaomi and 2640 × 1216 for OPPO. Choose by the size you prefer rather than treating refresh rate alone as a distinction.

Xiaomi specifies 12GB RAM and offers 256GB or 512GB storage, with UFS 4.1. OPPO offers 8GB or 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, with UFS 3.1. The Xiaomi therefore has the higher stated storage ceiling and newer storage standard on paper. Actual speed and responsiveness cannot be inferred from those labels alone.
Camera hardware: a periscope zoom versus three 50MP rear cameras
Xiaomi’s rear setup combines a 50MP main camera with a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto and a 12MP ultrawide. Its global specifications also list 4K HDR10+ video features. The OPPO instead uses a 50MP main camera, 50MP telephoto and 50MP autofocus ultrawide. Its front camera is 50MP with autofocus, compared with Xiaomi’s 32MP front camera.

Those specifications point to different priorities: Xiaomi explicitly specifies 5x periscope zoom, while OPPO gives all three rear cameras 50MP sensors and adds autofocus to the selfie camera and ultrawide. Megapixel counts and camera components do not establish which phone takes better photos or video; the available reviewer account of Xiaomi is not a matched side-by-side test against this OPPO model.

Xiaomi lists a 6,500mAh typical silicon-carbon battery and 67W HyperCharge. OPPO lists 6,700mAh typical capacity, 6,490mAh rated capacity and charging up to 80W. These are manufacturer capacity and rated charging figures, not comparable battery-life results. Actual endurance and charging time depend on usage, settings, temperature and charger; the OPPO’s higher charging rating does not by itself prove a shorter real-world charge time. Xiaomi’s global page says the power adapter is not included.

- 12GB RAM as the stated configuration and a 512GB storage option.

- A specified 5x periscope telephoto camera or the listed 4K HDR10+ video features.
Choose OPPO Reno16 5G if these matter most

- Three 50MP rear cameras by listed resolution.
- A higher stated maximum wired charging rate and larger typical battery capacity.
For performance, camera quality and battery life, chipset names, megapixels and capacity figures do not replace matched testing. TechRadar described the Xiaomi’s display as sharp and vivid and its everyday performance as capable, while calling its camera strong but not class-leading; those are observations from its Xiaomi review device, not results from a direct comparison with the Reno16. Comparison-page test summaries may use different methods, so they cannot establish a definitive head-to-head result without transparent, matching conditions.
