Yes. Microsoft lists the Xbox Nano Controller for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10 and Windows 11, Android, and iOS. Xbox consoles use Xbox Wireless, while PCs, tablets, phones, and other supported mobile devices connect over Bluetooth. Mobile and Smart TV support is conditional: the device and operating-system version must be compatible, and some features may not be available.

The controller is designed for smaller hands. Xbox describes it as “Great for smaller hands,” but the available official material does not provide dimensions, weight, stick spacing, or an independent ergonomics test.
How it connects to each platform
Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One
On an Xbox console, use the console’s Xbox Wireless pairing process. Put the controller into pairing mode, open the console’s accessory-pairing flow, and select the controller when it appears. This is a direct console connection rather than Bluetooth, so a phone or PC Bluetooth setting is not involved.

Once paired, the controller can be used for compatible games and system navigation. The Xbox Accessories app on both Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One supports button mapping, allowing you to assign controls differently when a game or a player’s hand position requires it.
Windows 10 and Windows 11
Microsoft lists Windows 10 and Windows 11 support through Bluetooth. On a current Windows installation, open Settings > Bluetooth & devices, turn Bluetooth on, choose Add device, select Bluetooth, and choose the controller after it enters pairing mode. Windows may show a confirmation before the connection becomes available to games.
For configuration in the Xbox Accessories app, Microsoft specifies a compatible USB-C cable for the Windows connection. Bluetooth is therefore sufficient for ordinary wireless play, but it is not the only connection you may need if you intend to change button assignments in the Windows app. A cable is also needed to charge the internal battery if it is low.

Android support is listed for compatible devices, not every Android product. Open the device’s Bluetooth settings (usually Settings > Connected devices > Pair new device), place the controller in pairing mode, and select it from the available-device list. Menu names differ between manufacturers and Android releases.

Before buying for mobile play, check the phone or tablet maker’s specifications and its current operating-system version. Microsoft cautions that Bluetooth support and some functionality vary by selected device and OS version. A successful pairing does not guarantee that every controller feature will work in every game or cloud-gaming application.
iPhone and iPad
For iOS or iPadOS, open Settings > Bluetooth, enable Bluetooth, put the controller in pairing mode, and tap its name when it appears under available devices. Apple’s menus and compatibility behavior can change with an operating-system update, so Microsoft’s “selected devices and OS versions” qualification applies here as well.
Games must also support external controllers. If iOS reports that the game is connected but inputs do nothing, check the game’s own controller-support information before assuming the Nano Controller is incompatible.

- Charge the controller enough to complete pairing and testing.
- Disconnect it from any console or device that may automatically reconnect.
- Start the controller’s Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Open the target device’s Bluetooth settings and choose the controller from the discovered-device list.
- Launch a controller-compatible game and test both sticks, triggers, bumpers, face buttons, and the directional pad.
- If the device remembers an old entry but will not connect, remove or “forget” that entry, restart Bluetooth, and pair again.
The exact pairing-button behavior and menu wording can vary by platform. If a device does not discover the controller, verify that its Bluetooth hardware and operating-system version are among the supported combinations rather than repeatedly attempting the same pairing sequence.

Button remapping with Xbox Accessories
Xbox Accessories supports button mapping on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10, and Windows 11. On a console, open the app from the installed apps list, select the Nano Controller, and create or edit a configuration profile. The Windows app provides the same general purpose, but Microsoft says the controller must be connected with a compatible USB-C cable for that app connection.
Remapping is useful for players who need an alternate layout, want to move a frequently used action, or share a controller with someone who prefers a different arrangement. The app’s availability does not mean that every game honors every possible assignment; game-specific input handling can still override or restrict controls.
Charging, battery, and the cable you need
The controller has an internal rechargeable battery. Microsoft’s store listing states that a USB-C cable is required for charging and that the cable is sold separately. No authoritative battery-capacity or battery-life figure is published in the available official material, so treat runtime claims from unverified listings as unconfirmed.
Plan to buy or reuse a compatible USB-C charging cable. A cable that can deliver power is sufficient for charging; for Windows Xbox Accessories use, choose one that also supports the data connection required by the app. If the controller works wirelessly but is not detected by the Windows app, the cable’s data capability, the USB port, and Windows’ device recognition are the first things to check.

Smart TV and cloud-gaming support
Xbox lists compatible Smart TVs as a conditional Bluetooth category rather than promising support for every television. The television must implement a compatible Bluetooth controller profile, and the operating system or app running on it must accept the controller.
Xbox Wire documents cloud play through Samsung Gaming Hub only for supported devices and select regions. That documentation also mentions a limited Game Pass Ultimate promotion. Neither statement makes cloud gaming universal: eligibility, supported TV models, service availability, account requirements, and regional terms still apply. Check the current Xbox and television-maker requirements before purchasing specifically for TV play.
What “compatible” does and does not guarantee
- Platform listing: Microsoft’s list identifies supported platform families, not every model sold under those families.
- Operating-system version: Android, iOS, Windows, and Smart TV updates can change Bluetooth behavior or app support.
- Game support: A connected controller still requires the individual game or cloud service to accept gamepad input.
- Feature parity: Some functions available on Xbox may be absent over Bluetooth on a phone, tablet, or television.
- Regional availability: Smart TV cloud-play features and promotions can be limited to specific countries or regions.
Troubleshooting by symptom
The Xbox cannot find the controller
End any active Bluetooth connection, restart the console’s accessory-pairing flow, and place the controller back into pairing mode. If another controller is already connected, move it away temporarily so you can identify the Nano Controller in the list. A low battery can also interrupt pairing; charge it over USB-C and try again.

Windows pairs but Xbox Accessories cannot connect
Use a compatible USB-C data cable, connect directly to the PC rather than through an unpowered hub, and reopen the Xbox Accessories app. Confirm that Windows recognizes the controller as a device. Bluetooth play can continue to work even when the app connection fails because the two paths use different connection requirements.

Android or iOS shows the controller as connected, but a game ignores it
Confirm that the game supports external controllers on that operating-system version. Forget the controller in Bluetooth settings, pair it again, and test a second controller-compatible title. If only one game fails, the problem is likely that game’s input support rather than the Bluetooth link.
The Smart TV does not list the controller
Check the television model’s supported controller list and whether its current firmware supports Bluetooth gamepads. A TV can have Bluetooth for headphones or keyboards without supporting game controllers. Cloud-play availability also depends on the service app, region, and account eligibility.
Buying checklist
- Choose the controller if you need one gamepad across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10/11, and compatible mobile devices.
- Budget for a USB-C charging cable because Microsoft says it is sold separately.
- Verify your phone, tablet, or Smart TV model and operating-system version before relying on Bluetooth.
- Choose a wired USB-C connection as part of your plan if Windows Xbox Accessories remapping is important.
- Do not buy on the assumption of a particular battery runtime; Microsoft has not published a figure in the available official specifications.
- For Samsung Gaming Hub, verify the exact TV, country, cloud service, and promotion terms before purchase.
Availability and release timing
Xbox Wire announced the product on October 14, 2026. Windows Central reported a November 2026 release window covering Xbox consoles, Windows PC, iOS, Android, and select Smart TVs. Because the current date is October 20, 2026, some retailers may not have stock yet. Microsoft notes that price and availability can vary by retailer and region, so check the listing serving your country before ordering.
The clearest compatibility conclusion is therefore platform-specific: Xbox Wireless for Xbox consoles; Bluetooth for supported Windows, Android, iOS, and Smart TV devices; and a separate USB-C cable for charging, with the same type of cable required for Windows Xbox Accessories app connectivity.
