It connects to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles through Xbox Wireless, and uses Bluetooth with supported Windows 10/11 PCs, iPhone and iPad devices, Android phones and tablets, and compatible Smart TVs.
The US Microsoft Store listing gives a price of $49.99 and a release date of November 4, 2026. The controller has an internal rechargeable battery, but Microsoft says the required USB-C charging cable is sold separately. It is a sensible buy when compact size and cross-device Bluetooth matter more than having published performance specifications; battery runtime, vibration behavior, latency, stick technology, and long-term durability are not established in the available official material.

Which devices work with the XBOX Nano Controller?
Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One
Yes. Xbox lists the Nano for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, using Xbox Wireless rather than Bluetooth. That is the important distinction for a console-first buyer: the controller is intended to pair directly with supported Xbox consoles through the platform’s native wireless connection.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Compatibility does not guarantee that every game exposes every controller feature. Xbox’s own guidance notes that feature availability can vary by device and game. A title must support gamepad input, and a game-specific shortcut may not behave the same way in every application.
Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs
Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs use Bluetooth with the Nano. The official specification also lists Xbox on PC, but the practical requirements remain the same: the computer needs compatible Bluetooth hardware or an appropriate adapter, the operating system must recognize the controller, and the game or service must support controller input.
For a desktop without working Bluetooth, the available data does not establish that a wireless receiver or USB cable is included. Do not assume the package provides a console-style receiver or a charging lead that can substitute for one.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsiPhone, iPad, Android phones, and tablets
Supported iOS and Android devices connect through Bluetooth. This makes the Nano relevant for mobile games and cloud-gaming applications that accept a Bluetooth gamepad. The word “supported” matters: operating-system version, device hardware, the game, and the cloud service can each impose their own limits.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Before buying for an older phone or tablet, check its current operating-system support and whether the specific game recognizes external controllers. Pairing the controller does not make a touch-only game controller-compatible.
Compatible Smart TVs
Xbox lists compatible Smart TVs as Bluetooth devices for the Nano. The television must support Bluetooth gamepads, and the app running on it must accept controller input. Smart-TV menus and pairing behavior differ by manufacturer, so consult the television’s controller or Bluetooth settings rather than expecting the Xbox console pairing process.
What the compatibility claim does not establish
- It does not confirm support for every operating-system version, game, cloud service, or television model.
- It does not publish a complete feature matrix for vibration, remapping, audio, or other peripherals.
- It does not prove that a Bluetooth connection will offer identical behavior to Xbox Wireless on a console.
How to connect and use the controller
Pairing with an Xbox console
The Nano uses Xbox Wireless on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Because the available product material does not publish a controller-specific button diagram or a version-specific pairing sequence, use the pairing instructions shown by the console and controller packaging rather than relying on an unverified button combination.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Turn on the Xbox console and the Nano.
- Start the console’s controller-pairing process.
- Put the Nano into pairing mode using the control identified in its final manual.
- Wait for the console to display the controller, then select it.
- Open a game and verify both sticks, triggers, buttons, and the Action Button before beginning a session.
If the console does not find it, bring the controller close to the Xbox, charge it, power-cycle both devices, and remove an old pairing before trying again. If the problem persists, check Xbox’s current controller compatibility guidance; the exact labels can change with console software updates.

Pairing with Windows, iOS, Android, or a Smart TV
- Charge the controller with a compatible USB-C cable. Microsoft says the cable is sold separately.
- Open the device’s Bluetooth settings and enable Bluetooth discovery.
- Put the Nano into Bluetooth pairing mode using the control specified in its manual.
- Select the controller when it appears in the device list.
- Launch a controller-compatible game or service and test input.
For a phone or tablet, pair from the operating system’s Bluetooth page instead of from inside a game. If the controller appears as connected but does nothing, close and reopen the game, confirm that the game supports gamepads, and check whether another controller is already assigned.
Connection troubleshooting checklist
- No device discovery: charge the Nano, move it within a few feet of the host, and restart Bluetooth.
- It connects to the wrong device: disconnect it from the previous console, phone, or PC before starting a new pairing session.
- Input works in menus but not in a game: verify that the game supports external controllers and that the correct input method is selected.
- Repeated dropouts: remove nearby wireless interference, keep the host device unobstructed, and install available operating-system or controller updates.
- Charging uncertainty: use a known-good USB-C cable and power source; the controller is rechargeable, but the cable is not listed in the box contents.
Is the compact size good for smaller hands?
Small hands are the clearest reason to consider the Nano. Xbox positions it as its smallest controller and emphasizes pocketability, making it relevant for children who can safely use a gamepad, adults with smaller grips, family members sharing one console, and travelers who do not want a full-size controller in a bag.
Potential ergonomic advantages
- A smaller shell can reduce the reach required to move between controls.
- A lighter, pocketable design is convenient for travel and quick sessions.
- Families can keep a second controller available without storing another full-size gamepad.
- Bluetooth support allows the same compact controller to move between a console, computer, phone, tablet, or compatible television.
What has not been independently established
The cited official pages do not provide a complete comfort study, hand-size range, button-spacing diagram, or long-term fatigue comparison. Windows Central reports approximate dimensions of 5 inches and a weight of 3.5 ounces, but those figures are secondary reporting and should not be treated as final specifications without confirmation from Microsoft.

A full-size Xbox controller may remain more comfortable for someone who prefers a conventional larger grip, has large hands, or routinely plays long sessions. The available sources do not provide a like-for-like comfort or performance test, so the Nano should not be described as universally better or worse.

Controls and the programmable Action Button
The Nano’s main differentiator is a programmable Action Button. Xbox Wire says it can be customized for screenshots, gameplay capture, and other frequently used shortcuts. That gives the controller a dedicated quick-action control rather than requiring a multi-button command for every capture or utility function.
A practical way to configure it
- Connect the controller to the Xbox or Windows device on which you intend to configure it.
- Open the platform’s controller-accessory or device settings and select the Nano.
- Choose the Action Button assignment offered by the software.
- Assign a supported shortcut, such as screenshot or gameplay capture.
- Save the profile and test it in the game or app you use most often.
Menu names and available assignments can vary by platform and software version. The official announcement confirms programmability and examples, but it does not publish a complete list of assignable commands.
Performance specifications you should not assume
The available official material does not establish the stick-sensor technology, vibration behavior, wireless latency, exact trigger design, durability rating, or resistance to long-term stick drift. It also does not publish a battery-runtime figure. Avoid buying on the assumption that the Nano has Hall-effect sticks, a particular vibration system, or a measured battery life.
Battery, charging, and what is in the box
The controller contains an internal rechargeable battery. That removes the need to keep replacing disposable cells, but it creates one essential purchase requirement: Microsoft explicitly says a USB-C cable is required for charging and sold separately.

To maintain the grip and prevent accidental falls, it's a good practice to periodically reapply pressure to the suction cup.
Budget for the cable
The listed $49.99 price covers the controller, while the available data does not provide a bundled cable or a cable price. Treat a compatible USB-C charging cable as a separate line item. Do not assume that a cable in your existing phone or tablet setup has the right connector or is available when you travel.
Travel and shared-console planning
- Pack the controller and a compatible USB-C cable together.
- Charge before leaving if you will be away from a console or outlet.
- Keep a second cable available if the Nano will rotate between family members or locations.
- Check the game or cloud service before travel because pairing alone does not guarantee controller support.
Because Microsoft has not published runtime, charge-time, or battery-health figures in the cited material, no honest buying guide can promise a specific number of hours per charge.

Is the XBOX Nano Controller worth $49.99?
At $49.99 in the United States, the Nano’s value depends primarily on fit and use pattern, not on a published performance advantage. The compact shell, rechargeable battery, Bluetooth device support, and programmable Action Button create a practical feature set for casual and portable play. The separate USB-C cable raises the real setup cost, while unverified runtime and performance specifications make it difficult to justify the purchase solely for battery life or competitive gaming.
Quick Recap
Buy it when these priorities match yours
- Smaller hands: You want Microsoft’s smallest controller rather than adapting to a larger grip.
- Portability: You carry a controller between rooms, trips, or shared spaces and value a pocketable design.
- Multiple device types: You switch between Xbox Wireless on a console and Bluetooth on a Windows PC, phone, tablet, or compatible Smart TV.
- Family sharing: You need a compact second controller for occasional multiplayer or household use.
- Quick shortcuts: You will use a programmable Action Button for screenshots, captures, or another supported command.
- Rechargeable operation: You prefer an internal battery and are prepared to buy a USB-C cable separately.
Choose a conventional full-size controller instead when
- You specifically prefer a larger grip and have no need for a compact shell.
- You want published information about runtime, vibration, latency, stick hardware, or durability before buying.
- You expect a charging cable to be included and do not want a separate accessory purchase.
- Your main priority is a long-session comfort or competitive-performance comparison that has not yet been documented for the Nano.
Use this decision table
| Your priority | Nano assessment | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Smallest practical Xbox controller | Strong fit | Xbox describes it as its smallest controller; independent comfort range is not published. |
| Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One play | Supported through Xbox Wireless | Game-level features can vary. |
| Windows, iPhone, iPad, Android, or tablet play | Supported through Bluetooth | Host operating system and game support still apply. |
| Smart-TV gaming | Supported on compatible televisions through Bluetooth | Television model and app compatibility must be checked. |
| Lowest complete setup cost | Less clear | The $49.99 US controller price excludes the separately sold USB-C cable. |
| Known battery runtime | Not established | Microsoft has not published a runtime figure in the cited material. |
| Competitive-performance proof | Not established | Latency, stick technology, vibration, and drift resistance are not documented here. |
Buying checklist
- Confirm that your main console is an Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One if you expect Xbox Wireless pairing.
- For a PC, phone, tablet, or Smart TV, verify Bluetooth support and the game or service’s controller compatibility.
- Measure your current grip preference honestly: the Nano is intended for smaller hands and portability, not as a guaranteed fit for every player.
- Add a compatible USB-C charging cable to your budget because Microsoft says it is sold separately.
- Use $49.99 only as the US Microsoft Store reference price for 2026; check your country’s live listing for local cost and stock.
- For a November 4, 2026 US purchase, check the listing close to release because availability and delivery status can change.
- Do not infer battery runtime, vibration, latency, Hall-effect sticks, exact final dimensions, or durability from the compact design alone.
- If considering a promotional bundle, confirm the current regional terms and whether the Game Pass offer is limited to new members.
