Quests are the broad Rewards activity category; a streak is one recurring quest format. Xbox currently lists daily, weekly, monthly and limited-time quests, while describing weekly streaks as an example of an exclusive quest for Game Pass Premium and Ultimate members. They are not two separate kinds of reward currency. Both can award Microsoft Rewards points when you meet the requirements shown in your Rewards hub.
The exact activity names, deadlines, point amounts and reset rules can change by market and over time. Use the live quest card in the Rewards hub as the authority for what you can complete today.

Xbox Quests and Streaks at a glance
| Comparison point | Quests | Streaks |
|---|---|---|
| What the term covers | The umbrella category for Rewards activities. | A recurring quest format; Xbox specifically cites weekly streaks as an example. |
| Possible cadence | Daily, weekly, monthly or limited-time. | Described by Xbox as weekly, although the live card determines the current requirements. |
| Who can receive them | Rewards members aged 18 or older can complete daily, weekly and monthly quests, subject to market availability. | Xbox lists weekly streaks among exclusive quests for Game Pass Premium and Ultimate members. |
| What you earn | Microsoft Rewards points when the listed activity is completed. | Microsoft Rewards points when the listed streak requirements are completed. |
| Rules and resets | Shown on each current activity card. | Xbox’s public description does not publish one universal streak length, reset schedule or missed-day policy. |
The practical distinction is scope. “Quest” tells you that an activity belongs to the Rewards program. “Streak” tells you that the activity is designed around repeated completion over a sequence or recurring period. A streak is therefore a type of quest, not a replacement for the entire quest system.

Xbox uses “quests” for activities that let eligible members earn Microsoft Rewards points. The current Rewards with Xbox description groups them into several time patterns:
#1 Best Overall
- [Ultra-Lightweight Ear Buds Designed for Small Ears] Each earbud weighs only 3.7g and features a compact, ergonomic in-ear design made especially for small ears. Secure, low-profile, and comfortable for workouts, all-day wear or overnight sleeping. The ultra-slim profile sits flush in your ear with no hard edges poking or rubbing, so you can even sleep on your side without discomfort.
- [Immersive Stereo Sound with TOZO OrigX Technology] TOZO OrigX tuning delivers clear vocals, balanced mids, and natural stereo sound for music, podcasts, and videos.
- [Long Battery Life for Daily Use] Get up to 7 hours of playtime on a single charge, with up to 32 hours total using the charging case—ideal for workdays, commuting, and extended listening sessions.
- [Bluetooth 5.3 & Stable Connection] Bluetooth 5.3 provides fast pairing, stable wireless performance, and reduced dropouts as you move around home or office.
- [Deep Bass with Clear Vocals] High-performance drivers produce punchy bass while keeping vocals clean and detailed for everyday listening.
- Daily quests: activities available on a daily cadence.
- Weekly quests: activities organized around a week.
- Monthly quests: activities that run over a month.
- Limited-time offers: activities with their own availability window.
Those labels describe when an activity is offered, not exactly what you must do. The task, eligibility, progress indicator, deadline and claim instruction belong to the individual card in the Rewards hub. One quest may involve gameplay, while another may use a different eligible Xbox or Rewards action. Do not infer the action from the word “quest” alone.
Quests are an umbrella, not one fixed challenge
Because the category includes several cadences and limited-time offers, there is no single quest length, point value or completion rule that applies to every activity. A daily quest can have a different requirement from a monthly one, and an offer may disappear when its stated window ends. Xbox can also change the set of activities shown to a member.
When an article, video or forum post says “complete your Game Pass quests,” it may be referring to several cards at once. Read the current card text rather than relying on an older checklist.
What an Xbox Streak is
A streak is best understood as a recurring quest that rewards continued completion according to the schedule displayed in your account. Xbox’s current public Rewards page gives “weekly streaks” as an example of an exclusive quest for Game Pass Premium and Ultimate members. That wording places streaks inside the quest category.
What the public description does and does not establish
The public description establishes the format and the membership relationship, but it does not provide one universal ruleset for every streak. It does not promise a particular number of consecutive days, a fixed play-time threshold, a standard bonus, a universal reset hour or a missed-day recovery method.
Those details can be activity-specific or market-specific. If your card says that several completions are needed in a week, follow that card. If another card presents a different sequence, its own instructions control. Treat any fixed streak length quoted in an old guide as historical unless the current activity confirms it.

Why a streak is not a separate currency
Completing a streak does not create “streak points” that sit outside Microsoft Rewards. The listed reward is Microsoft Rewards points, subject to the same program terms that apply to other eligible earning activities. The word “streak” describes the completion pattern, not a separate account balance.
Who is eligible?
Xbox’s current page says Rewards members aged 18 or older can complete daily, weekly and monthly quests. It also says Game Pass Premium and Ultimate members unlock exclusive quests, giving monthly packs and weekly streaks as examples. Availability can depend on market, so the presence of a subscription does not guarantee that every named activity will appear in every country or account.
| Membership or status | What the current Xbox description supports | What you still need to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Rewards member, age 18+ | Access to daily, weekly and monthly quests, where offered. | The specific cards, requirements and points available in your market. |
| Game Pass Premium | Access to exclusive quests; Xbox uses monthly packs and weekly streaks as examples. | Which exclusive cards are active and their current rules. |
| Game Pass Ultimate | Access to exclusive quests; Xbox uses monthly packs and weekly streaks as examples. Xbox also says Ultimate members can earn at higher rates on some gameplay and eligible Store-purchase activities. | The exact offer, rate and qualifying activity shown in your Rewards hub and official terms. |
| Under 18 or outside an eligible market | The cited eligibility statement does not establish access. | Applicable local requirements and the account’s own Rewards page. |
Do not read the table as a promise that every Premium or Ultimate member receives identical offers. The live hub is where Xbox exposes the activities associated with your account.
How Microsoft Rewards points work
Quests and streaks award Microsoft Rewards points, not cash. Microsoft Support states that points have no cash value. A points balance cannot be treated as a direct discount, wage or guaranteed return on a subscription.
Expiration and inactivity
Microsoft Support says points expire after 12 months with no earning activity. That is an inactivity condition, not a statement that every newly earned point vanishes after one year. Keep earning activity and monitor the terms attached to your account.

Microsoft says daily limits and program terms vary by country or region. Redemptions depend on the Rewards catalog and the terms that apply where you live. A redemption option described by another member may not be offered in your market, and catalog contents can change.

Where to see your current quests and streaks
Xbox directs members to the Rewards hub to see what is available now. Use the activity’s own text for the current task and claim process.
- Open the Rewards hub associated with your Xbox or Microsoft account. Sign in to the account that holds your Game Pass and Rewards membership.
- Review the available quest cards. Look for the activity name, cadence, eligibility note, progress state and end date or deadline, if shown.
- Open the full instructions before starting. Confirm the qualifying game, action, platform and any requirement about completing the activity within a stated period.
- Track progress from the card. The progress indicator is more reliable than a third-party checklist, especially when an offer has changed.
- Claim when the card requires it. Some activities may credit automatically; others may display a claim control. Follow the wording shown in your hub.
The current page does not establish one permanent menu path for every device. An Xbox Wire guide dated November 17, 2020 said Game Pass Quests could be accessed through the Game Pass mobile app and the Game Pass section on console. That is useful historical context, but it is not a guarantee that today’s app or console navigation is identical.

How to compare a quest card with a streak card
If you are deciding whether two activities are different, compare the cards rather than their names. Use this checklist:
- Scope: Is the card presented as a general daily, weekly, monthly or limited-time quest, or is it labeled as a streak?
- Eligibility: Does the card require a particular Game Pass tier, or is it available to the broader eligible Rewards membership?
- Cadence: Is there a single completion window, or does the card require repeated completion over a recurring period?
- Progress: Does the card show a sequence, consecutive requirement or recurring counter? If it does not, do not assume that it is a streak.
- Deadline: Note the exact end date or period displayed. A weekly label does not, by itself, tell you the reset time.
- Reward: Record the Microsoft Rewards points shown on that card, without converting them to cash.
- Claim instruction: Follow the card’s stated claim or automatic-credit behavior.
This method avoids a common error: treating every weekly quest as a streak. A weekly quest can be a one-period activity, while a streak emphasizes repeated completion. Only the live wording tells you which interpretation applies to a particular card.
Cadence, deadlines and reset rules
Daily activities
A daily quest is offered on a daily cadence, but the exact availability window and completion action come from its card. Do not assume that completing it just before midnight, or at a particular local time, will count for the next period unless the instructions say so.

Weekly activities
Weekly quests and weekly streaks both use a week-related schedule, yet they are not interchangeable terms. A weekly quest may ask for a task during one weekly window. A weekly streak may require repeated qualifying completions as described on the card. The public Xbox description does not state a universal reset hour or missed-week policy.
Monthly activities and packs
Xbox cites monthly packs as another example of an exclusive quest for Premium and Ultimate members. “Monthly” identifies the cadence; it does not establish the number of activities in a pack or the points awarded. Read the current pack card for those details.
Limited-time offers
Limited-time quests can end independently of the daily, weekly and monthly schedule. If the card shows an end date, complete and claim the activity before that deadline. An old screenshot cannot establish that the offer is still active.

Calling every quest a streak
Use “streak” only when the activity is presented as one or requires the repeated pattern described by its instructions. The umbrella term remains “quest.”
Assuming every Game Pass tier includes every exclusive
Xbox specifically names Premium and Ultimate for exclusive quest examples. It does not say that every tier, market or account receives every exclusive card. Check the eligibility line in your hub.
Relying on fixed numbers from old guides
Do not promise a particular consecutive-day count, play-time threshold, point amount or bonus unless the current card states it. Activity rules can change.
Best Value
Assuming a missed completion is recoverable
The public description does not establish a universal recovery or reset policy. If you miss a period, open the card and read its current status; do not assume that a later completion will restore a broken sequence.
Treating points as money
Points have no cash value, and redemption availability varies by region. Describe the actual points and catalog option shown to the member instead of assigning a dollar value.
Using a historical interface as a current instruction
The November 17, 2020 Xbox Wire guide is dated context. It mentioned the Game Pass mobile app and the Game Pass section on console, but today’s navigation may differ. Start from the current Rewards hub.

Is a Premium or Ultimate subscription necessary?
For the general quest categories, Xbox says eligible Rewards members aged 18 or older can complete daily, weekly and monthly quests. Premium and Ultimate matter when you want the exclusive quest examples Xbox lists, including monthly packs and weekly streaks.
Whether that makes a subscription worthwhile is a personal decision that cannot be answered from quest labels alone. Compare the subscription’s broader features and price with your own use, then treat any Rewards activity as an optional benefit. The available evidence does not support a promise that quests pay for a subscription or deliver a predictable financial return.
A practical decision framework
- Start with availability. If the activity is not in your Rewards hub, its name in an article or video does not make it available to your account.
- Check the tier requirement. Determine whether the card is a general quest or an exclusive Premium or Ultimate activity.
- Measure the effort from the instructions. Note the required action, frequency, deadline and any sequence. Avoid estimating from the word “streak.”
- Check the points and terms. Record the displayed Microsoft Rewards points and remember that regional limits and redemption rules apply.
- Decide whether to participate. Complete the activity if it fits your normal play and the stated reward is useful to you; do not add paid time or purchases solely on an assumed points value.
Historical context: how the terminology evolved
An Xbox Wire guide published on November 17, 2020 described Game Pass Quests as a way for members to earn Microsoft Rewards points that could be redeemed toward Microsoft Store credit or charity donations. It also described access through the Game Pass mobile app and the Game Pass section on console.
That article explains the earlier presentation of Quests, but the current Rewards with Xbox page is the better authority for present-day terminology and eligibility. The current page’s wording places weekly streaks inside the exclusive quest category for Premium and Ultimate members. When older and newer descriptions differ, use the current card and current official terms for your market.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThe short answer for readers asking “What’s the difference?”
A quest is any eligible Rewards activity—daily, weekly, monthly or limited-time. A streak is a recurring quest format, and Xbox currently gives weekly streaks as an example of an exclusive activity for Game Pass Premium and Ultimate members. Both award Microsoft Rewards points when completed, and neither has a universal rulebook that overrides the instructions on the live Rewards hub.
