Choose VITURE Pro 2 if built-in myopia adjustment and fit tuning are priorities; choose X by Xreal a01+ if you prefer its more sunglasses-like styling and reviewer-reported out-of-box comfort. Their headline display specifications are close, so your prescription, fit, and the device you plan to connect matter more than a clear spec-sheet winner. Both are best treated as USB-C-connected virtual displays for video, gaming, or viewing a device screen—not automatically as spatial AR workspaces.
What is the practical difference?
These glasses put a private virtual screen in front of you, typically by connecting to a compatible phone, computer, tablet, or gaming device. That can make them useful for watching video, playing games, or enlarging a source device’s display. It does not, by itself, mean that windows stay anchored in your physical room or that either model provides a full spatial-computing workspace. The available comparisons do not establish equivalent built-in spatial modes for these two models.

Tom’s Guide’s August 2026 comparison lists both at $299 and reports the same headline figures for each. The practical distinctions are vision correction and adjustability on the Pro 2, versus the a01+’s design and one reviewer’s positive out-of-box comfort impression. Prices can change; check the current listing before buying.

The shared numbers are reported specifications, not proof that the two glasses look equally sharp, bright, or well-tuned to every wearer. Brightness claims in particular should not be treated as a guarantee of identical perceived image quality. The Verge’s August 2026 hands-on article also discusses the Pro 2’s image clarity and build, but that is a reviewer observation rather than a universal result: The Verge’s VITURE Pro 2 hands-on.

Which model is better for your vision and fit?
VITURE Pro 2: built-in adjustment for some near-sighted users
VITURE says the Pro 2 has built-in myopia adjustment up to -5.0D. That can be a meaningful convenience if your prescription falls within that range, but it is not a substitute for confirming that the controls suit your eyesight. If you need stronger correction or another kind of prescription, ask an eye-care professional about your needs and verify that a compatible prescription frame or insert is available for this exact model. VITURE lists a Pro 2 prescription lens frame on its product page.
X by Xreal a01+: design and immediate comfort may appeal
Tom’s Guide’s reviewer described the a01+ as lighter and comfortable straight out of the box, and liked its sunglasses-like appearance. That is one person’s fit experience, not a promise that it will suit every face. The retailer comparison reports no built-in diopter controls, so buyers who need corrective lenses should confirm a compatible solution for the a01+ before ordering.
The same Tom’s Guide reviewer ultimately leaned toward Pro 2 after finding its adjustment options useful for comfort and usability. Treat that as a reviewer-specific preference, not a universal fit verdict. Since fit is personal, check the seller’s return policy if you cannot try the glasses first.

Text is razor-sharp with zero blurry edges, making this the sharpest XR display for reading, working, and gaming — powered by VITURE's proprietary optical "secret sauce" and the latest Sony Micro-OLED panels with 35% lower power consumption, further reducing heat while delivering extended battery life for longer sessions.

When paired with VITURE Pro Neckband, it supports full 6DoF tracking and hand gesture control, allowing you to interact with spatial interfaces in a more natural way. It is ideal for users who want to go beyond watching video and explore a more interactive XR experience. Feature availability depends on device, app, and connection method.
- 【Sony Micro-OLED, 1500 nits & 120Hz | Bright, Sharp, Smooth】 Whether you are watching movies in a bright living room, checking small game UI on a handheld console, or expanding your PC workspace, Luma Ultra is designed to keep visuals bright, clear, and easy to read. Sony Micro-OLED displays, 1500 nits brightness, up to 120Hz refresh rate, and a 52° field of view help deliver smooth motion and deeper immersion for gaming, streaming, and productivity.
- 【SpaceWalker Support | Multi-Screen, 3DoF, One-Click 3D & Ultra-Wide】 Luma Ultra works with SpaceWalker to unlock a broader XR experience on supported platforms. Use 3DoF head tracking, multi-screen workspaces, ultra-wide display, One-Click 3D, and immersive 3D experiences where supported. On Mac and Windows, you can place multiple virtual screens side by side for documents, browsers, chat, coding, editing, or streaming. 2D-to-3D conversion requires SpaceWalker, and support may vary by OS, app, content, and connection method.
- 【iPhone 17/16/15 Series Support | Adapter Ultra Unlocks iOS XR Features】 Luma Ultra can display content from compatible USB-C video-output iPhone 17/16/15 series devices. For the full SpaceWalker experience on iOS, pair it with the USB-C XR Charging Adapter Ultra(Launching Soon) to enable features such as 3DoF head tracking and multi-screen functionality. iPhone 16e and iPhone 17 Air are not compatible with VITURE XR Glasses. Older adapters, including the standard USB-C XR Charging Adapter and HDMI XR Adapter, do not support Luma Ultra.
Will they work with your phone, computer, or console?
Do not assume that a USB-C connector guarantees a working display. The host device needs to send video over its USB-C connection, and some setups may also depend on power delivery or an accessory. VITURE documents direct USB-C examples for selected handhelds, phones, tablets, and computers; its product page also illustrates Switch play using a mobile dock. That is not a guarantee for every device or configuration.
- Identify the exact source device. Note its model and the port you plan to use; “USB-C” alone does not establish display output.
- Check for video output over that port. Confirm it in the device maker’s specifications or support information. If the port cannot send video, the glasses will not receive a direct display signal through it.
- Check the complete setup for your use case. For a console or handheld, determine whether a dock or adapter is needed. For a phone, tablet, or computer, check any power or accessory requirements alongside video output.
- Verify compatibility for the exact glasses model and accessories. VITURE’s Pro 2 page describes connection examples and lists accessories, but compatibility still depends on the source device and configuration. The researched comparison material does not provide a complete a01+ compatibility matrix.
VITURE lists a Mobile Dock Mini, Pro Mobile Dock, and USB-C XR charging adapter, as well as its prescription frame. A dock is relevant when the source device or console setup calls for one; a charging adapter matters when your device’s video and power arrangement requires it. Check model compatibility and current availability before buying an accessory rather than adding one by default.
Which one should you buy?
Choose VITURE Pro 2 if
- You want built-in myopia adjustment up to the manufacturer’s stated -5.0D range.
- You value options for tuning the fit and are willing to check whether its shape suits you.
- Your source-device setup matches VITURE’s documented connection examples or you have confirmed the exact configuration.
Choose X by Xreal a01+ if
- You prefer its sunglasses-like design.
- You do not need built-in myopia adjustment, or you have confirmed a compatible prescription solution.
- You find the model comfortable after trying it, or its return terms make a fit trial practical.
Hold off on either if
- Your source device’s USB-C port does not provide video output and you have no verified alternative connection.
- You need prescription correction but have not confirmed a compatible lens solution for the exact model.
- Your main goal is persistent windows anchored in a room rather than a personal virtual monitor; the cited material does not establish that either model provides the spatial features you want.
Sources and limits of the comparison
The reported comparison figures and fit observations come principally from Tom’s Guide’s August 22, 2026 hands-on comparison: Tom’s Guide: VITURE and Xreal budget AR glasses. Manufacturer specifications, adjustment range, listed price, and accessories for Pro 2 are on VITURE’s Pro 2 product page (accessed October 7, 2026). A dated retailer comparison provides additional a01+ and prescription-adjustment context: DroidShop’s comparison, published September 4, 2026. The available sources do not establish a complete a01+ specification sheet or compatibility matrix, nor do they demonstrate equivalent room-anchored spatial features for these glasses.
