Wings of Heroes’ current class guide lists five labels: Light Fighter, Fighter, Bomber, Attack Aircraft, and Multirole Fighter. It does not list a separate Interceptor class. That is the guide’s terminology, not a complete class taxonomy confirmed by the game’s store listings; don’t assume “interceptor” is another name for a Light Fighter or any other class.
Class can help narrow your choices, but the individual plane’s speed, turning behavior, survivability, damage, and your preferred way to play matter more than a label alone.

Which plane classes does Wings of Heroes list?
Pocket Gamer’s guide, updated October 5, 2026 for game version 2.3.2, names five classes. Its descriptions are qualitative, not official class statistics or a verified performance ranking.

| Class | Pocket Gamer’s description | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Light Fighter (LF) | Lower speed and survivability than a Fighter, with the lowest turn time. | Whether quick turning suits you, and whether you can manage lower survivability. |
| Fighter (F) | Low survivability, with high speed and “turn time.” | Whether speed and turning are priorities and you can avoid incoming damage. The guide’s phrase “high turn time” does not establish whether that means tighter turns or slower turning. |
| Bomber (B) | Highest survivability and slowest turning. | Whether durability and the bomber role matter more to you than maneuverability. |
| Attack Aircraft (A) | Fast, damaging, relatively lightly armored, and broadly balanced. | Whether a general-purpose feel suits you better than a more specialized role. |
| Multirole Fighter (MF) | A combination of good speed, medium armor, and damage. | Whether you prefer a mix of speed, protection, and damage. |
These are summaries of Pocket Gamer’s guide, not developer-published definitions. Its wording about the Fighter’s “turn time” is ambiguous, so it should not be read as a claim that Fighters make the tightest turns. A statistic for one named aircraft would not, by itself, establish a class-wide trait.
Does Wings of Heroes have an Interceptor class?
The current guide lists no separate Interceptor class. Google Play and Apple’s public game descriptions mention fighters and bombers but do not publish a complete class taxonomy or name an Interceptor class. This does not rule out the term appearing elsewhere in the game or in a future update; it means the reviewed class guide does not identify it as a current category.
In particular, the available sources do not support mapping the real-world interceptor role onto Light Fighter, Fighter, or another Wings of Heroes label. Treat those as distinct terms unless the game itself defines a connection.

How should you choose a plane?
Use the class description to decide what to inspect, then compare the individual aircraft. Pocket Gamer advises choosing around stats and preferred play style rather than expecting one plane to suit everyone.

- Turning: Look at the aircraft’s actual turning or maneuverability information. Don’t infer a precise handling advantage from ambiguous class wording.
- Survivability and armor: Consider how much protection you want and how you respond to incoming damage.
- Damage: Compare the aircraft’s damage characteristics rather than assuming every plane in a class performs identically.
- Role and preference: Decide whether you enjoy a specialized approach or a mix of attributes, then see which aircraft fits it.
- Progression: The plane itself, its tier, and its upgrades also affect the choice; the reviewed sources do not establish universal rankings that account for them.
There is no verified class-wide table in the reviewed sources that ranks every label by speed, damage, armor, or turning. Treat the class descriptions as orientation, and use the live in-game details to compare the particular aircraft available to you.

How do game modes affect the choice?
Google Play describes Wings of Heroes as a WWII airplane game with 5v5 battles and lists four modes. The objectives provide context for your decision, but the store description does not establish that any particular class is best in a mode.
| Mode | Google Play’s description | How to use that context |
|---|---|---|
| Domination | Capture and hold control points. | Consider whether you prefer engaging around objectives or another style of play. |
| Ace Mode Domination | Domination with auto-aim disabled and a higher XP ratio. | Whether you want to play without auto-aim may matter more than a class label. |
| Dogfight | Opposing-team dogfights focused on destroying a target number of planes. | Consider whether direct aerial engagements are the objective you enjoy. |
| Annihilation | Destroy control points. | Use the objective as context when selecting a plane, not as proof of a class advantage. |
Why the class list may change
Game rosters and presentation can shift with updates. Apple’s listing says the game regularly adds planes, maps, modes, and features; it also describes fighters and bombers without publishing the full class list. Check the current in-game labels and aircraft details when making a choice, especially after an update. The five labels above are the ones in Pocket Gamer’s guide for version 2.3.2, not a promise that the list will remain unchanged.
