Can my Avita Altum run Windows 11?
It depends on the hardware and firmware in your specific computer, not just the Altum family name. Microsoft’s Windows 11 minimum requirements include a compatible 64-bit processor with at least two cores, 4 GB of memory, 64 GB of storage, UEFI firmware with Secure Boot capability, TPM 2.0, and DirectX 12-compatible graphics with a WDDM 2.0 driver. Microsoft’s guidance is to use PC Health Check or check with the PC manufacturer when eligibility is uncertain. A Windows 10 PC can upgrade only if it is running a supported Windows 10 version and meets Windows 11’s minimum hardware requirements; availability and timing can vary by device. Check the exact computer
- Run Microsoft’s PC Health Check app and review its Windows 11 eligibility result. If Windows Update offers the upgrade, that is also a device-specific indication; do not infer eligibility from another Altum owner’s result.
- To inspect security features, open Windows Security > Device security. Microsoft says this page shows information about the security processor and Secure Boot. If no security processor is shown, it may be missing or disabled in UEFI; the screen alone does not establish Altum-wide hardware capabilities. See Microsoft’s Device security guidance.
- Find the computer’s precise model number and configuration from its label or system information, then ask AVITA support for your region whether that specific unit has supported Windows 11 firmware and drivers. Regional models and specifications can differ.
What AVITA’s published information does—and does not—show
AVITA’s 2021 Windows 11 upgrade announcement names processor configurations in families including Essential, Pura and Liber, but does not name Altum. Because the list is historical and does not identify every regional configuration, that omission is not conclusive proof that every Altum is ineligible. Check the AVITA support information for your region and exact model.

An AVITA India page describes an Essential configuration with Windows 10 Home in S mode, an Intel Celeron N4000, 4 GB LPDDR4, Intel UHD Graphics 600 and a 128 GB SATA M.2 SSD. That is an Essential example, not an Altum specification; AVITA also notes that specifications vary by country. Do not use those figures to decide whether an Altum qualifies. Is Windows 11 faster than Windows 10 on an Avita Altum?
No reliable Altum-specific evidence establishes that either version is faster, more responsive or more battery-efficient. A fair verdict would require tests on the same identified Altum configuration, using comparable drivers, system condition and workloads. Without that, performance depends on the individual processor, available memory and storage, driver state, workload and device condition—not a substantiated Windows 10-versus-11 result for the family.

Passing the Windows 11 compatibility check confirms minimum eligibility; it does not show how well the laptop will handle your everyday applications. Confirm AVITA’s driver and firmware support for your exact regional model before changing operating systems. The available official information does not establish Altum-wide driver support.

Microsoft states: “Support for Windows 10 ended on 14 October, 2025.” See Microsoft’s Windows 10 end-of-support notice. This support status is separate from Windows 11 eligibility: the end of Windows 10 support does not make an Altum that fails Windows 11 requirements compatible.

If PC Health Check says the Altum is ineligible, take the precise model number to AVITA support and ask what operating systems, firmware and drivers it supports. Do not treat bypassing Windows 11 requirements as equivalent to an officially supported upgrade.
