Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV is scheduled to launch on PC on December 3, 2026, but its minimum and recommended hardware requirements have not yet been published on Steam. The listing only confirms a 64-bit processor and operating system; it does not identify a CPU, GPU, memory amount, or storage requirement. Until fuller specifications or reliable tests are available, there is no sound basis for saying whether a particular PC can run it or recommending an upgrade.
What the published PC requirements say
The current Steam listing has incomplete system requirements. Its minimum section says a 64-bit processor and operating system are required, while the operating-system field is marked “Coming soon.” The recommended section also shows only the 64-bit processor and operating-system condition. No CPU or graphics-card models, RAM amount, storage requirement, or complete operating-system version are listed.

| Area | What is confirmed | What is not yet specified |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum and recommended hardware | Steam lists a 64-bit processor and operating system. | CPU and GPU models, memory, storage, operating-system version, and complete minimum and recommended tiers. |
| Display support | Creative director Jan Theysen said the game supports ultrawide displays and 4K. | Hardware needed for either resolution, target frame rates, graphics modes, and measured performance. |
| Graphics settings | An official Battlefield Report discusses match settings. | A complete PC graphics menu, presets, and individual visual controls. |
| Input and platforms | The developer said gamepad controls would not be available at launch and that native Linux and Mac versions were not planned when the AMA took place. | Whether input support or platform plans change before or after launch, and tested compatibility configurations. |
Can your PC run Dawn of War IV?
There is not enough published information to answer that reliably yet. The 64-bit requirement is only a basic platform condition, not a useful measure of whether a particular processor or graphics card will meet the game’s needs. Do not use requirements from an earlier Dawn of War game as a substitute: the available sources provide no verified component list or performance test for this title.

Once they appear, compare your processor, graphics card, memory, storage, and operating-system version against each tier separately. A published requirement will still not guarantee a particular frame rate or visual quality.

What ultrawide and 4K support does—and does not—mean
Theysen confirmed support for ultrawide displays and 4K. That establishes display compatibility, not the performance level a given PC can achieve. No source cited here identifies the hardware needed to run at either resolution, a target frame rate, or the graphics settings used to reach one. Treat support as distinct from a promise of smooth performance at a specific resolution.
Graphics settings and performance status
The available official material does not document the game’s full PC graphics options. A Battlefield Report’s discussion of match settings is not a comprehensive graphics menu, so it cannot establish whether the game will offer particular presets or individual controls.

Theysen said in the official Steam Community AMA that most planned optimization work was complete and that the studio expected to publish system requirements soon. After the release was delayed, he described further optimization, bug fixing, and polish as goals for the extra development time. Those are statements about the team’s work, not benchmark results. No cited source supplies measured frame rates, frame-time results, or hardware-specific performance data.

Steam currently lists December 3, 2026, as the release date. PC Gamer reported an August 2026 delay from an earlier September date and quoted Theysen saying the extra time would allow continued performance optimization, bug fixing, and polish. Release timing can change, so check the Steam listing for the latest date.

The developer said native Linux and Mac versions were not planned when the AMA was answered, while also expressing openness to small changes that might improve accessibility for Linux players. That does not establish final compatibility or support at launch. Gamepad controls were likewise described as unavailable at launch, with no confirmed later change in the sources cited here.
