Sometimes, but there is no reliable yes-or-no answer for every China-version OPPO. Compatibility depends on the exact model and ColorOS/Android build, whether the device is Play Protect certified, your car and payment card, your country, and each bank’s app policies. Adding Google apps does not by itself establish certification or guarantee that Android Auto, Wallet payments, or banking apps will work.
What determines whether it will work?
“China-version OPPO” describes a market variant, not one uniform configuration. Before buying or relying on a phone, identify its exact model number and installed software build. Then check the services you actually need independently: Android Auto connection, Google Wallet contactless payments, and each banking app.

OPPO says China-version devices do not have Google Play Store or other Google apps preinstalled; the cited support answer concerns a China-market Reno and does not establish the post-setup status of every later model. OPPO Support likewise offers general Android Auto installation guidance for OPPO phones running Android 8 or later, but does not confirm that every China-market model or ROM supports it. Check Google Play Protect certification
On the phone, open Play Store → profile icon → Settings → About and look for “Play Protect certification.” Google says certified devices have passed Android compatibility testing and are eligible to include licensed Google apps. On an uncertified device, some apps and features may not work correctly; Google also warns of possible security and update limitations. Installing the Play Store or sideloading Google apps does not prove the phone is certified, and disabling Play Protect scanning does not fix an uncertified status. Google’s certification help

Android Auto: verify the phone-car combination
OPPO’s general installation instructions are not model-specific approval of a China ROM. Confirm Android Auto support on the exact phone and test it with the intended vehicle and connection method—wired or wireless, as applicable. A successful app installation alone does not demonstrate that the phone will connect reliably to your car.
Google Wallet: app access is not the same as tap-to-pay
Google lists Android 9 or later and up-to-date Google Play Services as requirements for the Wallet app. Wallet app requirements Wallet contactless payments have additional conditions: the phone must have NFC, Wallet must be the default NFC payment app, the user must have a screen lock, and the card and country must support contactless Wallet payments. Google says contactless payments may fail on rooted phones, custom ROMs, modified factory software, untested or unapproved phones, and devices with an unlocked bootloader. If the device does not meet its security requirements, Google says contactless payments cannot be made and recommends using original Android software. There is no general guarantee that banking apps will work on every China-version OPPO. A bank may set its own device, software-integrity, or regional requirements. The available general certification guidance cannot establish whether a particular bank will install or accept a specific OPPO model. Ask each bank about the exact model and software build, then verify app installation, login, biometrics, and push or two-factor authentication notifications.

Pre-purchase compatibility checklist
- Get the exact model number and installed ColorOS/Android version from the seller.
- Ask for the Play Store’s Play Protect certification status on that handset; do not treat the presence of Google apps as a substitute.
- Confirm Android Auto on that exact phone with your car and intended connection method.
- Check that NFC is present, then try Wallet setup with your actual card and country.
- Contact each bank you rely on and ask about that model and build; test login, biometrics, and notifications before depending on the phone.
