Other current lists differ, so treat those ranks as dated editorial guidance—not an official Riot ranking or a promise of wins. Choose for your role, team composition, comfort, and ability to execute the champion, not the tier label alone.
What changed in Wild Rift patch 7.3a?
Riot Games’ Wild Rift Game Design Team published patch 7.3a notes on September 29, 2026. The update includes champion and item adjustments, jungle and Turret Plating tuning, and AAA ARAM updates. Two changes are especially relevant when reading champion rankings: Riot reduced Hwei’s overall damage and increased Samira’s damage and durability.

Riot said Hwei’s performance had continued to rise as players mastered his kit, and the team expected that trend to continue. That helps explain why patch-specific rankings can move, but the balance change alone does not establish where Hwei belongs in a tier list. Read the official Wild Rift patch 7.3a notes for the full adjustments.

| Role | Wild Rift Core S+ pick | As of |
|---|---|---|
| Baron / Top | Malphite | October 4, 2026 |
| Jungle | Nocturne | October 4, 2026 |

| Support | Thresh | October 4, 2026 |
Wild Rift Core says it weighs ranked impact, lane power, ease of execution, teamfight value, snowball potential, solo-queue stability, and overall meta presence. Those criteria make the list useful as a broad starting point, but they do not determine which champion will suit a particular matchup or team.
Why current tier lists disagree
A tier list combines performance evidence with editorial judgment. Publishers can use different update dates, player populations, rank filters, role assignments, and measures of champion value. A strong specialist pick may also be less reliable for a player still learning its execution.
Rank #2
- Embark on an epic adventure across the land and skies of Hyrule with the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller - The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition.
- Includes motion controls, HD rumble, built-in amiibo functionality*, charging cable (USB-C to USB-A), and more.
Pocket Gamer’s October 5, 2026 article organizes recommendations by role, identifies Hwei as its latest addition, and discusses situational off-meta choices such as Vayne top and Seraphine mid. Wild Rift Fire also publishes role-filtered rankings; its visible leading champions include Syndra, Hwei, Senna, Shen, Malphite, Nocturne, and Rammus. Wild Rift Core and Wild Rift Fire do not make every identical placement: for example, Core names Malphite its Top S+ pick, while Fire’s leading role selections include Shen and Malphite. That is a difference between dated editorial judgments, not a single factual ranking to resolve.
Compare lists by patch and review date first, then consider the role, region, rank bracket, win/pick/ban rates, sample definition where disclosed, execution demands, and team-composition needs. Tier placement and statistical performance are related, but they are not interchangeable. See the Pocket Gamer role tier list, Wild Rift Fire tier list, and Wild Rift Core tier list for each publisher’s current presentation.

What Wild Rift Fire’s ranked statistics do—and don’t—show
Wild Rift Fire says its ranked statistics come exclusively from the Wild Rift China server, which it describes as the only region with official ranked statistics, and that the data update daily. Its page provides rank and role filters alongside win, pick, and ban rates. The figures below are the overall values displayed in the snapshot accessed October 7, 2026; they are China-server figures reported by Wild Rift Fire, not Riot-authored statistics or global performance rates.
| Champion | Displayed win rate | Region and source |
|---|---|---|
| Rammus | 56.49% | China server; Wild Rift Fire, accessed October 7, 2026 |
| Shen | 56.48% | China server; Wild Rift Fire, accessed October 7, 2026 |
| Malphite | 55.33% | China server; Wild Rift Fire, accessed October 7, 2026 |
| Nocturne | 55.13% | China server; Wild Rift Fire, accessed October 7, 2026 |
| Senna | 54.91% | China server; Wild Rift Fire, accessed October 7, 2026 |
| Hwei | 54.74% | China server; Wild Rift Fire, accessed October 7, 2026 |
For example, the same snapshot displays Hwei at a 10.29% pick rate and 67.37% ban rate. Those rates are also tied to that China-server page and access date; a high ban rate can limit how often a champion is available to play. Because Wild Rift Core’s reviewed figures do not establish a directly comparable sample definition, combining the two sites’ numbers into one leaderboard would be misleading.

How to choose a champion from a tier list
- Start with your role. Use the role-specific section rather than selecting a champion solely because it appears high overall.
- Check what your team needs. Consider the team composition and whether a pick fits the game plan; a highly ranked champion is not automatically the best fit for every draft.
- Account for execution. Weigh ease of execution and your own familiarity alongside the tier placement. An unfamiliar pick may be harder to use effectively than a champion you already understand.
- Read the date and patch. Champion balance and player mastery can change, so check whether a list reflects patch 7.3a and when its judgment was last reviewed.
- Use statistics with their context. Confirm the region, rank and role filters, timeframe, and methodology before applying a win rate to your own games.
