How do I fix a Ryobi 40V battery that won’t charge?
1. Find the battery and charger model numbers

2. Check the outlet, connections, and contacts

3. Check temperature and read the exact charger manual
If you have the OP406A, RYOBI says its indicators report charging status and whether the battery is too hot or too cold. Let the battery return to the operating conditions specified in its own manual, then check again. For other indicators—or any blink pattern—use the manual for your exact charger rather than a generic online code list. RYOBI’s support site provides model-number lookup for manuals.
4. Compare components only with compatible products
If you already have access to compatible equipment, test one change at a time and follow both products’ manuals. RYOBI lists its OP4011A 40V 2A Lithium-Ion Charger as compatible with any RYOBI 40V battery. That does not prove your existing charger is faulty, nor does it mean another charger can revive a damaged battery.
