That can reduce the need to crop or pad those images to fit, but it does not guarantee a perfect fit for every phone photo. The frame also offers Frameo app sharing, 64GB of built-in storage, and support for offline playback of photos already stored on it.
What “built around the shape of a phone photo” means
Pexar describes the screen as a “Photo-native 4:3 display, less cropping” on its product page. The practical idea is straightforward: when a photo and a display have the same aspect ratio, the image can fill the screen without the ratio mismatch that otherwise leads to cropping or empty bars.

That is a fit advantage for 4:3 images, not a claim that all phone cameras produce 4:3 photos. Images shot or edited in another ratio may still need to be cropped, fitted with empty space, or displayed with bars. Pexar’s buyer’s guide says this is the only 4:3 panel in its frame lineup and contrasts it with other models’ 5:3, 16:10, and 16:9 screens.

Pexar also says the 12.5-inch model has about 67% more viewing area than a common 10-inch frame. Treat that as the manufacturer’s comparison, rather than an independently measured result.
How photos get onto the frame
Share through Frameo over Wi-Fi
The frame uses the Frameo app for wireless photo sharing. Pexar describes setup as connecting the frame to Wi-Fi, scanning a code to link it with Frameo, then sending and receiving photos. The app can share with multiple frames, and Pexar says family or friends can be invited to contribute and react. Wi-Fi is needed to sync new content.

Use local or removable storage
Once photos are stored on the frame, it can continue displaying them without Wi-Fi. For imports outside the app, Pexar lists SD card support and USB-A or USB-C flash-drive support; USB-C can also be used for computer transfer. External storage is sold separately, and only one external storage method can be in use at a time.

Pexar lists JPG/JPEG, PNG, WEBP, and HEIC for photos, and MP4 and 3GP for video. Other listed features include a built-in speaker, sleep mode, portrait/landscape auto-rotation, and a light sensor that adjusts brightness.

Choose by the image library and viewing location, not diagonal size alone. A 4:3 screen is the most direct fit when many of your photos use that ratio; a wider display may suit a collection dominated by widescreen images or video. Also consider available placement, the app you prefer, resolution, and whether 64GB of internal storage plus optional removable storage fits your library.

Power and practical limits
The VivKeep Pro has no battery, according to Pexar, so it needs to stay connected to power. Wi-Fi is not required for displaying photos that have already loaded, but it is required for syncing new app-shared content. The manufacturer’s specifications and storage estimate should be read as product claims; no independent test figures for this model are established here.
