Nadeshot reportedly called the online reaction to his AI-made Roobet promotional video “incredibly dramatic” after criticism arose in the wake of a separate 100 Thieves controversy over AI-generated merchandise artwork. He defended using AI for his video while saying he opposed copying a design to sell as merchandise for 100 Thieves. The timing explains why the two stories were discussed together; reporting does not establish that they were connected.
What prompted the criticism?
On October 1, 2026, Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag posted a promotion for a week of Roobet casino streams on Kick. Insider Gaming and Sportskeeda described the accompanying video as AI-generated; the reports also recounted promotional language about streaming eight to ten hours a day for eight days. That was a plan stated in the post, not verification that the streams took place. (Insider Gaming; Sportskeeda)

The promotion drew attention because it followed 100 Thieves’ September 30 apology over AI use in artwork for its RuneScape merchandise collaboration with Jagex. The close timing made the stories easy to juxtapose, but the reporting does not show that 100 Thieves commissioned or approved Nadeshot’s separate Roobet promotion. (Insider Gaming; Sportskeeda)

The coverage includes selected social-media reactions, not representative polling. It therefore supports saying that the post drew criticism, but not that a measured share of viewers opposed it or that the reaction reflected public opinion as a whole. Sportskeeda and Insider Gaming reported examples of responses, rather than audience-wide data. (Sportskeeda; Insider Gaming)

What did Nadeshot say?
In an October 5 account of Nadeshot’s stream remarks, Dexerto reported that he distinguished the merchandise controversy from his promotional video. He said he did not support using AI to copy a design for direct commercial sale by 100 Thieves, but said he liked the video he had made with AI. The quotations below are attributed to Nadeshot by Dexerto; the full stream recording was not independently verified. (Dexerto)
“I don’t support the idea of using AI and copying and pasting a design to directly make money from a business perspective at 100 Thieves,” he said. “Of course, I don’t think that’s how we should operate and how things should be done.”
