Then check when assets load, whether the page needs screen or print CSS, and whether the missing image is in a header or footer template.
Why images or fonts can be missing
Html2Pdf.app converts pages using headless Chromium. The PDF can therefore differ from what you see in your own browser when the renderer cannot fetch an asset, the page has not finished loading it, or the selected CSS media mode hides or changes it. Html2Pdf.app’s troubleshooting guide recommends confirming that the source URL and required CSS, fonts, and images are reachable by the renderer.

There is no single documented cause for every missing asset. Diagnose the specific resource and rendering context rather than assuming the PDF service can access everything your logged-in browser can.

- Check the source page URL. Make sure the URL submitted for conversion is publicly accessible. If you submit raw HTML, make sure its referenced assets are accessible too.
- Test each asset URL. Open the image, stylesheet, and font-file URLs independently. Check that they do not require a login, session cookie, or other authentication unavailable to the renderer.
- Verify web-font declarations. For Google Fonts or self-hosted fonts, Html2Pdf.app documents use of
@font-face. The stylesheet and the font files it references must be publicly reachable without authentication. A font declaration cannot help if its file cannot be fetched. - Allow time for asynchronous loading. If JavaScript or delayed requests add images, styles, or fonts after the initial page load, try the API’s
waitForparameter. The documentation defines it as the number of seconds to wait before generating the PDF and supports values from 0 to 10 seconds. Increase it only as needed; waiting does not fix an inaccessible resource. - Match the page’s CSS media mode. The API accepts
screenandprintformedia; the documented default isscreen. Compare the PDF using the mode for which the page’s intended styles are written. - Handle header and footer templates separately. External resources cannot load in these templates. Embed template images as base64 data URLs, and include any required CSS directly in the template because it does not inherit the source page’s styles.
Use a one-variable-at-a-time check
Keep a copy of the PDF that shows the problem. Change one setting or asset at a time—such as access, waitFor, or media—and compare the result. This helps distinguish an access problem from a timing, styling, or template restriction without treating any one adjustment as a universal cure.

- If only one image is absent, start with that image’s URL and whether it is ordinary page content or a header/footer asset.
- If several images, styles, or fonts are absent, check public access to the source page and its referenced resources.
- If a resource appears in a browser only after scripts run or a delay, test a suitable
waitForvalue. - If layout or visibility differs rather than assets simply failing to load, compare
screenandprintoutput.

Can I use a longer wait to make a private font file load?
No. A wait can give asynchronous resources more time, but the font file and stylesheet must still be publicly reachable without authentication.
