Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The first things to check are whether you opted in to receive gifts on the right channel and whether your account is eligible. You must use a YouTube channel that is not a Brand Account, be subscribed to the channel, have interacted with it recently, and not already be a member there. Opting in makes you eligible; it does not guarantee you’ll be selected.
Check whether your account is eligible
YouTube’s gifted-membership guidance lists several conditions for receiving a gift:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- You’re signed in to a YouTube channel that is not a Brand Account.
- You’re subscribed to the channel giving away memberships.
- You’ve interacted with that channel recently.
- You’re not already a member of that channel.
Even if all these conditions are met, you may not receive a gift. Eligibility is not a promise of selection, and YouTube’s public guidance does not let other viewers or creators confirm an individual account’s eligibility or selection.
Turn on the right gift setting
Being opted in on one channel may not opt you in for gifts from every channel. YouTube explains that channel-specific and global gift settings are separate; if you want to be eligible on other channels, check global opt-in too. See YouTube’s membership-promotion guidance for the channel-specific opt-in link.
#1 Best Overall
- Creating streaming and vlog content is a big part of social media. Therefore, it is really important to enlarge your fans, wear these when you are filming to remind your audience how to support you.
- Get more views, likes and subscriptions with this tee.
- Lightweight, Classic fit, Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem
From live chat
- Open the stream on its YouTube watch page and sign in to the eligible account.
- In live chat, choose Allow Gifts or the pinned membership-gifting control.
- Turn on the gift setting. If you see an option to allow gifts from other channels, enable it if you want global opt-in.
From the channel or watch page
- Open the channel or a video’s YouTube watch page and select Join.
- Open More, then Gift Settings.
- Turn on Allow gifts. Check whether the setting applies only to that channel or more broadly.
Make sure you’re watching on YouTube
Live chat is available on YouTube watch pages, not in embedded players. If you’re watching a video embedded on another site, open it on YouTube and check the chat there. YouTube states this limitation in its live-stream guidance.
Tell the purchase ticker apart from a gift notification
The buyer’s gift-purchase announcement in chat is temporary. Its disappearance does not prove that no memberships were distributed: YouTube says gifts may still be distributed if the stream or chat ends before the announcement appears.

- YOUR LIVE NUMBER ON YOUR DESK: followers, subscribers, members, players, downloads or sales in big readable numbers, refreshed every minute - every bit of growth feels real.
- NEXT-MILESTONE PROGRESS BAR + "+N TODAY": watch the bar fill toward your next round number, with a daily gain ticker so momentum is always visible.
- RUNS 100% ON ITS OWN: joins your Wi-Fi and refreshes itself - no laptop, no app, no phone. Just plug in the included USB-C cable.
- A GREAT GIFT: comes pre-flashed with a 3D-printed desk stand and a 2-minute phone setup. Independent hardware; not affiliated with the platforms shown.
If you’re selected for a one-month gift, YouTube says you’ll receive a separate notification in live chat and an email to the address associated with your account. Check both. YouTube’s recipient guidance describes a gifted membership as non-recurring and lasting up to one month. To view its benefits, open the channel’s Memberships tab or choose See perks on a video page; more details are in YouTube’s membership-benefits guidance.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteIf you’re a creator answering viewers
- Share the channel-specific allow-gifts link from YouTube’s membership-promotion guidance, and ask viewers to verify that the setting is on.
- Remind viewers to check their account type, subscription, recent interaction with the channel, existing membership status, and global opt-in if they want gifts from other channels.
- Explain that a missing purchase ticker is not confirmation that gifts were not distributed. A selected viewer should look for the separate chat notification and email.
Or let an always-on stream run in the cloud
This is separate from gifted-membership eligibility: StreamNeo does not change who can receive gifts or whether YouTube selects a viewer. If you’re a creator who wants uploaded videos to keep a YouTube channel live around the clock, StreamNeo runs that stream in the cloud: upload a video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; videos stream as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
