In an October 2, 2026 interview with HLTV, he described aggression as the approach that suits him; the interview records his intention, not evidence that his play has already changed.
Why molodoy wants to change his approach
Molodoy said he had tried to adjust his game toward playing more for the team, but after the China event he did not want to keep trying to “fix” his style. He wants to take more initiative again, including repeeking, because he believes aggressive AWPing works for him.

What the reported ratings show—and what they do not
HLTV framed the interview with molodoy’s rating against top-five teams: 1.20 over the prior year compared with 0.99 for 2026 at the time of publication. HLTV also reported a 1.06 playoff rating for 2026 at that point. These figures describe different timeframes and contexts; the interview does not establish that a change in playing style caused the difference.
HLTV’s separate player-stat snapshot lists a 1.11 Rating 3.0 across 49 maps over the past three months. That three-month figure is not the same measure as the top-five-team comparison or the 2026 playoff rating.

Molodoy said his eye was better and that he had used medication for a short time. He also said pressure earlier had made it difficult for him to focus. This is his account in the interview, not an independently verified diagnosis or medical assessment.
Time away and the coming team change
He described the brief time at home as valuable for seeing family and relaxing, while saying it would take time to see how refreshed the team felt. The interview also looks ahead to FalleN’s impending retirement. Molodoy said losing a close teammate would be difficult and that he wanted to give FalleN his best and try to win the remaining events.
“You can lose some people close to you. It’s life. What are you going to do?”
What to watch next
The practical question is whether molodoy’s stated preference becomes visible in his decisions in matches: taking more AWP duels, choosing repeeks, and initiating plays rather than defaulting to a more team-oriented adjustment. The interview offers no match-by-match evidence of a completed change, so the ratings cited there should not be treated as proof of what his next approach will produce.
