Some Vizio TVs pair directly with Bluetooth headphones; others do not offer that menu. Check your TV’s full model number and official manual before concluding Bluetooth is absent. If your model lacks headphone pairing, an external transmitter may work when it matches an audio output on your TV.
Why the Bluetooth menu may be missing
Vizio has not provided the same Bluetooth audio features across every TV model and generation. The 2022 V-Series User Manual describes pairing Bluetooth headphones, and Vizio’s V4K50S-0809 product listing specifies Bluetooth. Older manuals also document Bluetooth audio on some legacy models, including the XVT423SV, XVT473SV, XVT553SV and M421VT. These examples show that support exists on some Vizio TVs; they do not establish that it is available on every model.

Look up the complete model number on the TV’s label or in its settings, then check that model’s official manual and specifications. A Bluetooth remote, Wi-Fi connection or casting feature does not by itself mean the TV can send audio to Bluetooth headphones.

- Find the exact model number. Check the label on the TV or its system information screen. Do not rely on the series name alone.
- Open the model’s official user manual. Search for “Bluetooth Headphones,” “Bluetooth audio” or “pairing.” Follow that manual if its instructions differ from general support guidance.
- Check the TV menu. On the V-Series model covered by its 2022 manual, the path is Menu > Bluetooth Headphones. If that option is present, put the headphones into pairing mode, select them under Other Devices, then confirm they appear under Paired Devices.
Vizio’s “Pairing a Bluetooth audio device to your VIZIO TV” support page provides general guidance. The exact model’s manual is the better guide when menu names or capabilities differ. If the manual does not describe headphone pairing and the menu is absent, do not assume another wireless feature can substitute for it.

What to do if your model does not pair headphones directly
An external Bluetooth audio transmitter is a possible workaround. It takes audio from a TV output and sends it to compatible Bluetooth headphones. The connection only works if the transmitter accepts an output your particular TV actually has and supports the audio signal the TV provides.
- Inspect the TV’s audio outputs. Check the ports on the set and its manual. Some models have optical digital audio output; others may have different connections. The V4K50S-0809 listing specifies optical output, but that detail applies to that model, not all Vizio TVs.
- Match the transmitter input to the output. For a TV with optical output, look for a transmitter with an optical input. Confirm the transmitter’s supported audio formats and connection requirements.
- Check the TV’s audio settings. Make sure digital audio output is enabled and set to a format the transmitter supports. Consult both devices’ manuals for the relevant settings.
- Pair the headphones with the transmitter. Verify that the transmitter can pair with your headphones; do not assume every transmitter or headphone combination is compatible.
Vizio’s cited specifications establish that the V4K50S-0809 has optical audio output, but they do not verify any particular third-party transmitter. Check your exact TV and accessory specifications before buying.

Native Bluetooth pairing or an external transmitter?

The cited Vizio materials do not establish a general performance or latency difference between these options, so choose based on the connections and compatibility documented for your devices.

What the available model examples can—and cannot—tell you
Vizio’s manuals and product listing demonstrate that Bluetooth audio features vary across models, including examples of direct headphone pairing and older Bluetooth audio output. They do not state what share of all Vizio TVs includes Bluetooth, and a specification for one model cannot confirm the ports or pairing options on another. Without your TV’s model number, its individual compatibility cannot be determined.
