The right fix depends on what you generated: an image template, a PDF body, a PDF header or footer, or a browser capture you control. First identify the output, the affected region, and whether you are looking at an editor preview or the final file. Then check the font family name, how the font is loaded, and whether the rendering path supports it.
Start by identifying the output and the font’s location
“Screenshot” can mean several different APITemplate.io workflows, and their font controls are not interchangeable. Note these three details before changing CSS:

- Output: image template, PDF, or a browser capture made with Puppeteer.
- Region: PDF body, PDF header/footer, or text in an image template.
- Stage: browser/editor preview or the final generated file.
That distinction matters because the HTML PDF editor and WYSIWYG editor provide CSS areas for fonts, image templates have text-element font controls, and PDF headers and footers have a separate custom-font method. The relevant starting points are the HTML Template Editor, Visual Template Editor, and Image Template Editor documentation.

- Check the actual CSS. In the HTML template’s CSS area, inspect the
font-familydeclaration applied to the affected text. Confirm that the spelling and punctuation match the intended family name; a font filename is not necessarily the CSS family name. - Confirm the font is supplied to the renderer. APITemplate documents using external fonts in the HTML template’s CSS area. Check that the stylesheet or font URL is reachable from the renderer and that the CSS is included in the template. A declaration that names a font does not itself make the font available.
- Generate the PDF, then inspect it. Do not treat the quick preview as proof that the final PDF uses the same rendering path. Save the template and generate the actual PDF with its intended settings.
If the external font does not appear in the generated file, verify the URL and stylesheet inclusion in the workflow you control, then compare the generated artifact again. The documentation describes the external-font route, but a particular account’s remote-resource access must be verified in its own output or logs.

Fix fonts in PDF headers and footers
Header and footer typography can follow a different path from the PDF body. APITemplate’s header/footer instructions describe using a TTF font with a <custom-font> tag. Follow that setup for the header or footer rather than assuming the body’s stylesheet will apply there.
- Use the documented custom-font setup for the TTF in the header/footer region.
- Check the font’s actual family name and use that name where the CSS family is specified; do not infer it from the file’s name.
- Generate the PDF and inspect the header or footer in the output, not just the body or editor preview.

Fix fonts in image templates
For an image-template output, inspect the text element in the Image Template Editor and its selected font. Regenerate the image using that template’s editor or API workflow after correcting the element setting. PDF CSS rules are not established as controls for image-template typography; use the image template’s own font controls instead. APITemplate’s guides cover image template editing and adding text to an image or photo via API.
Why preview and final output can disagree
APITemplate describes Quick Preview (Ctrl+Q) as rendering HTML instantly in the browser “(no header/footer).” The preview is therefore useful for a quick check of HTML, but it is not a complete check of the generated PDF—especially if the mismatch is in a header or footer. Save the settings and generate the final PDF before deciding whether the change worked. See the HTML Template Editor documentation for the preview and PDF workflow.

If you generate PDFs with Puppeteer you control
For a Puppeteer-controlled workflow, APITemplate’s guide shows waiting for the browser’s font-loading promise before continuing:

The same guide says Puppeteer-generated headers and footers do not support web fonts, so waiting for body fonts will not solve that separate limitation. Use an appropriate alternative for those regions. If your own renderer runs on Linux or serverless infrastructure, the guide also discusses local-font configuration for environments with limited installed fonts; that is not a reason to assume APITemplate customers can change the host operating system of its managed service. Can I fix a hosted APITemplate.io render by installing a font on its server?
The available guidance does not establish that customers can change fonts on APITemplate’s managed host. The local-font advice applies to Linux or serverless Puppeteer environments you control.
