In Little Workroom’s small ongoing experiment, the agent created and posted an AI leadership ebook under the owner’s direction, but the target—$100 in real customer proceeds—remained unmet. Little Workroom’s September 2026 report showed 13 ebook views, zero sales, and $0 revenue; those figures were reported by the seller, not independently audited. The owner also disclosed selling the ebook and said the article received no separate human editorial review.
What did “published” actually prove?
Only a narrow claim: a product page had been made public. The assignment combined several outcomes—create an ebook, publish it, and earn $100 in real customer proceeds—but those outcomes require different evidence. A successful tool action or green status can confirm one step while leaving the actual objective open.

Little Workroom’s report is a useful case study in keeping those claims separate, not proof that an AI agent reliably produces revenue. The owner directed the work and authorized publication; the owner described it as a small ongoing experiment rather than a revenue success story.

Five claims, five kinds of evidence
Each stage answers a different question. Evidence for an earlier stage does not automatically prove a later one.

The final claim was still open in Little Workroom’s account. As of September 18, 2026, the seller reported 13 views, zero sales, and $0 revenue for the ebook in authenticated Gumroad analytics. The author noted that views could include their own checks and that another product on the account made account-wide traffic an unreliable measure of this ebook’s traffic. These are the seller’s reported figures, not an independent audit or a finding about Gumroad generally.
Why sitemap processing did not answer the indexing question
Little Workroom reported a sequence of mixed Search Console observations. The first indexing request for the Blogger article was accepted. A later report showed a redirect error from an earlier crawl and no indexed pages in that report. On September 17, 2026, a live URL test passed; the author requested indexing again and submitted a missing sitemap. The sitemap detail page then showed successful processing and two discovered pages.

On the September 18 check, however, the aggregate indexing report still showed an update date of September 14. The author therefore concluded that neither successful search distribution nor a new failure could be inferred from those potentially stale observations. This is the author’s account of Search Console, not an independent inspection. Acceptance of a request, a passing live test, successful sitemap processing, discovery, indexing, and search traffic are distinct states.
How to keep an AI agent’s status report auditable
For every important status, record the precise claim it supports rather than a broad label such as “done.” A claim-level record should identify:

- Scope: Which product, account, or version does it concern?
- Observation time: When was the evidence checked?
- Evidence source and observation: Where did the evidence come from, and what did it show?
- Exclusions: What should not count toward this claim?
- Unknowns: What remains unverified?
- Next action: What would reduce the remaining uncertainty?
For the ebook, scope matters: the “AI Leadership for Small Teams” product is not interchangeable with other products on the seller account. A free delivery test should be excluded from customer-sales evidence, as should sales of unrelated products. Prospective-customer views were unknown; a relevant public distribution channel was proposed as a next action.

This record improves traceability; it does not prove that the entry is true or validate itself. It is not a security control, and it does not replace protecting credentials or customer data.

- If the evidence source is unavailable, report the measurement as unavailable. Do not substitute an old number and present it as current.
- If a status may be stale, include its observation or update time and avoid drawing a conclusion the source cannot support.
- After a timeout, inspect whether the previous action saved before retrying a publication or another write. This helps avoid duplicate or conflicting actions.
- Keep the overall objective open while marking verified intermediate work complete.
For this experiment, the distinction is straightforward: publication was complete; the $100 proceeds objective was not. A published product is evidence of a published product—not evidence that customers bought it or that the business goal was achieved.
