If your Razorpay subscription tier appears as ₹399 in one place and a different amount in two others, the displays alone do not prove a pricing bug. First check that all three refer to the same plan and compare its amount, currency, and billing frequency with the actual API record. A rupee-versus-paise representation is also worth checking, but the payment-link example in Razorpay’s documentation does not establish how every subscription screen or response presents amounts.
What the three prices could be telling you
Razorpay’s plan documentation treats the charge amount and billing frequency as separate plan data. A displayed figure can therefore be misleading if one view shows a recurring amount while another describes a different period or a total. A unit mismatch is another possibility: INR amounts may be represented in paise in an API context, but you must verify the convention for the particular subscription response and screen you are comparing.

The available details do not identify the three amounts, where they appeared, or how your account is configured. They do not establish whether tax, an offer, or a dashboard or API defect is involved. Treat “pricing bug” as a hypothesis until you compare the underlying records.

Start with the subscription’s plan ID, not just the tier name or a price label. Razorpay’s Create a Plan documentation says a plan ID is used when creating a subscription, making it the key link between the subscription and the plan you intended to use. Compare that ID with the intended tier and with the ID shown in the plan record. Razorpay Create a Plan API documentation

Compare amount, currency, and billing frequency
For the same plan ID, inspect item.amount, item.currency, period, and interval in the relevant plan/API record, then compare them with the dashboard and the other displays. The amount and currency describe the plan’s price; period and interval describe how often it charges. Razorpay documents daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly periods, as well as custom intervals such as once every three weeks. The plan API reference
Do not infer the configured price from a display label alone. Razorpay’s documentation gives an INR minimum plan amount of ₹1.00 and uses 69900 as a sample request amount; that sample is documentation, not evidence of what your account should contain. The dashboard guide describes plans as reusable templates containing amount and billing frequency, and says businesses can create multiple plans with different prices and cycles. Because that guide’s search-result crawl is about five years old, verify current dashboard behavior rather than assuming its statements about editing or deletion still apply. Check whether an amount is in paise or rupees
For INR, 100 paise make ₹1. Razorpay’s payment-link API documentation says amounts are passed in the smallest currency unit and gives ₹300 as 30000. This is a useful reason to check units, not proof that a subscription API field or every dashboard display uses the same representation. Confirm the convention for the exact API response and interface at issue before converting a figure. Razorpay payment-link API example
Capture evidence before calling it a platform bug
- Write down all three displayed amounts exactly, including currency, where each appears, and whether it is a recurring charge, one-time amount, or total over a period.
- Record the subscription ID and its associated plan ID; confirm that the plan is the intended tier.
- Compare the plan’s amount, currency, period, and interval in the relevant API record with the dashboard and the other display.
- Check the unit convention used by each specific API field or screen. Do not apply the payment-link example automatically to a subscription display.
- If the records still conflict, contact Razorpay support with the plan ID, subscription ID, timestamps, screenshots, and relevant API response after removing credentials and other secrets. Razorpay provides a support ticket route. Razorpay Support
What can be concluded
Razorpay’s documentation establishes that plans carry an amount and currency and that period and interval define billing frequency. It also describes plans as part of a service for managing automated recurring transactions. Razorpay Terms & Conditions Without the three actual displays and the account’s plan and subscription records, the reason for a ₹399 tier appearing at three prices—and whether there is any product defect—remains undetermined.
