What did sponsors get from participating?
The Linux Foundation’s 2024 event announcement described sponsorship as providing “thought leadership opportunities, lead generation programs, prominent branding, and more.” It also presented sponsorship as a way to showcase technologies, deliver a message and contribute to the open-source ecosystem. The event’s four communities gave sponsors a chance to engage audiences spanning embedded Linux, real-time systems, safety-critical software and Zephyr. The public roster identifies sponsor tiers, but the available 2024 information does not specify individual package prices, exact benefits by tier, or guaranteed speaking or lead-generation access.
How PHYTEC activated its sponsorship
PHYTEC described a practical, product-focused approach: a Solutions Showcase booth where attendees could see its system-on-modules and try a phyCADE demonstration based on the phyCORE-AM62x. The company also said it valued conversations with partners and friends at the booth. It is one documented example of using event presence for product demonstration and relationship-building, rather than evidence that every sponsor received the same booth or benefits.
