If you mean a Googlebook, the more common product term is Chromebook. In Luminar for Chromebook, start with Develop for basic tone and color, then use Curves for targeted adjustments. Crop and straighten the image, and add Details or AI effects only when they solve a visible problem. There is no universal set of slider values: the right changes depend on the photo and the look you want.
Which Luminar app should you use on a Chromebook?
Skylum markets Luminar for Chromebook as an Android photo-editing app. Its Chromebook page is the relevant guide to the app’s tools and workflow; do not assume the settings or interface match Luminar Neo for desktop. Skylum’s Luminar for Chromebook page describes the Chromebook app, while the Luminar Neo FAQ lists desktop requirements for macOS and Windows, not ChromeOS.

Which settings should you adjust first?
1. Start in Develop
Use Develop for foundational tone and color changes. Identify the most noticeable issue—such as an image that looks too dark or has an unwanted color cast—and adjust the relevant control in small increments. Watch the preview and stop when the image looks balanced. Skylum identifies Develop as the place for essential color and tone adjustments, but does not publish universal numerical slider values for Chromebook photos. See the Chromebook app’s listed tools.

- Intel Celeron N4120: 4 Cores & Threads, 1.1GHz Base Clock, Up to 2.6GHz Boost Clock, 4MB Cache, Intel UHD Graphics 600. The perfect combination of performance, power consumption, and value helps your device handle multitasking smoothly and reliably with four processing cores to divide up the work.
2. Use Curves for more targeted changes
Curves can brighten or darken an image, add contrast, or shift colors. Use it when a broad adjustment in Develop is not precise enough. Make restrained changes and check that highlights and shadows still retain the detail you want.
3. Crop and align the composition
Use Crop to trim the frame and, as needed, align, flip, or rotate the image. Check the framing again after your tonal adjustments so the final composition still works.

4. Add Details or AI effects only when useful
Skylum lists Details for sharpness and AI tools including Sky, Relight, and Structure. These tools are optional: apply them only when they address a specific issue or support an intended creative look. A stronger effect is not automatically a better edit. The Chromebook product page lists these tools.

What file types and offline editing does the app support?
Skylum says Luminar for Chromebook supports JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and various RAW formats, and can be used offline. The Chromebook page does not identify every supported RAW camera model or explain cloud synchronization and file availability. Before working without an internet connection, make sure the images you plan to edit are accessible on the device. Check Skylum’s format and offline information.

What if a large photo is slow or will not open?
Skylum says file-size limitations vary with a device’s RAM and storage, so performance with large files can differ between Chromebooks. If a large RAW file is slow or fails to open, a practical troubleshooting step is to try a smaller JPEG or a copy stored locally on the device. This is a general suggestion, not a vendor-documented fix. Skylum’s Chromebook page notes device-dependent file-size limits.

Luminar Neo is a separate desktop product. Its FAQ lists minimum requirements of macOS 12 or higher, or Windows 10 version 1909 or higher (64-bit), with 8 GB RAM or more, 16 GB recommended, and 10 GB of free disk space. Those are desktop Neo requirements; they do not establish Chromebook compatibility or describe the Chromebook app’s settings. See the Luminar Neo FAQ. Skylum’s Editing Tools support section organizes guides for Neo’s editing tools, which is another reason to use Chromebook-specific documentation when following this workflow.
