Choose the current listing for the console you already own
If you have a PS4, the PlayStation listing is the direct match. If you have a PS5, the listed PS4 version is explicitly described as playable on PS5, although Sony warns that some PS4 features may be missing. On Xbox, Microsoft lists the game for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. In all cases, check the listing on the account and storefront region you intend to use before buying.

Choose a legacy edition only when your hardware is part of the plan
If you own a Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2, PS3, PS one, or Xbox 360, the ESRB listing is evidence that an edition of Code: Veronica X is associated with that platform. It does not establish that a copy is currently sold, that it will work on another console, or that every regional model is compatible. Verify the specific console, disc format, region, and edition before buying a used copy.

For example, a PS2 disc is a choice for someone with compatible PS2 hardware; it is not a substitute for confirming that the disc can be played on a PS4 or PS5. The platform list alone cannot answer backward-compatibility questions. For a physical copy, check the seller’s description and condition, and make sure the console you plan to use is specifically supported.

Capcom announced a separate remake titled Resident Evil Veronica, describing it as a remake of the 2000 game. The announced platforms are PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, with the release scheduled for 2027. That is a year, not a confirmed day or month. In its June 8, 2026 press release, Capcom said: “The release date, along with further details, will be announced at a later date.”

Do not treat that announcement as a current way to play the existing game or assume that the remake will be available at the beginning of 2027. If timing matters, wait for a more specific date and platform-store listings. If you want to play before then, use an existing supported listing or investigate a copy for hardware you already own.
What “Code: Veronica” and “Code: Veronica X” mean for this choice
The current US console store listings discussed here use the title Resident Evil Code: Veronica X. ESRB’s platform list also names Code: Veronica X. Capcom’s announcement, by contrast, calls the upcoming remake Resident Evil Veronica and identifies it as a remake of the 2000 game. These titles help distinguish the existing game listing from the announced remake.
