Complete the encounter before Leyndell becomes Ashen Capital; it will not trigger afterward. The flail is identified as Tarnished Edition content, so check that you have access to the relevant add-on as well as the base game.
What you need before going to the statue
- Brother Corhyn’s quest: Progress it to the Leyndell section involving the statue of Radagon.
- Law of Regression: Obtain the Golden Order Principia from the upper level of the arena where you fight the golden shade of Godfrey. Give the Principia to Miriel or Corhyn to learn the spell.
- Correct timing: Complete the encounter while Leyndell is still the Royal Capital, before it changes to Ashen Capital.
How to reach the statue of Radagon
- Travel to the Erdtree Sanctuary Site of Grace in Leyndell.
- Leave through the door and descend the stairs.
- Take the lift down, then continue down the next staircase to reach the statue.
How to trigger Broken Gold Mask and get the flail
- Stand by the statue of Radagon and cast Law of Regression.
- After the spell reveals the secret, Broken Gold Mask invades.
- Defeat the invader to receive the Golden Order Flail and associated Broken Gold Mask items.
The invasion is tied to this statue interaction; simply reaching the area or progressing the quest without casting the spell does not complete the encounter. If Leyndell has already become Ashen Capital, the invasion will not occur there.

Check your edition and add-on access
The location guide identifies the Golden Order Flail as Tarnished Edition content. Bandai Namco’s official ELDEN RING website lists physical game editions separately from the Tarnished Pack DLC. Owning a physical copy of the base game therefore does not, by itself, establish that you have access to the add-on. Check your edition and downloadable content access if the item or encounter is unavailable.
