When quoting or reporting a change, use the date shown on the Newswire entry, not the upload date displayed by a third-party channel. This distinction matters for Trailer 1: Rockstar’s December 5, 2023 post described the game as heading to “the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.”

Trailer 1 is the starting point for the public GTA VI campaign. Rockstar’s Newswire post is dated December 5, 2023. It presents Leonida, including Vice City and surrounding areas, and originally announced a 2025 release window for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. If you encounter a page that still describes 2025 as the current launch date, treat it as historical material and check the later Newswire update and the current hub.
To watch the official version, open the GTA VI hub and select Trailer 1. The hub provides the first-party listing; the Newswire archive supplies the date and original context.

Trailer 2: Jason, Lucia and the central setup
Trailer 2 is tied to Rockstar’s May 6, 2025 Newswire post. The announcement introduces Jason and Lucia and says that they become caught in a criminal conspiracy stretching across Leonida. The post points readers back to the GTA VI hub, so that hub is the reliable route when you want to watch the trailer without depending on a repost.
Use the May 6 date when distinguishing the official Trailer 2 announcement from later clips, reaction videos or fan edits. A title that says “new Trailer 2” but predates that date is not describing Rockstar’s official release.
An Extended Look: an in-game-footage presentation
Rockstar announced An Extended Look on August 6, 2026, with an August 27 premiere on three official destinations: Netflix, Rockstar’s official YouTube channel and the GTA VI site. On August 27, Rockstar confirmed that the extended video was available on the YouTube channel and GTA VI site and was playing on Netflix.
Rockstar’s update says the presentation was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. That wording describes the source of the footage; it does not mean the game is available only on PlayStation 5. The current platform information belongs to the GTA VI hub.

Launch Trailer: the newest dated entry
The Launch Trailer is dated October 15, 2026 in Rockstar’s dedicated launch-trailer entry. That page also places watch links for An Extended Look, Trailer 2 and Trailer 1 together, making it useful when you want to move through the official video sequence from the newest release to the earlier trailers.
If you arrive through a search result, confirm that the page is on the rockstargames.com domain and that its date matches October 15, 2026. The GTA VI hub and the Newswire archive are the dependable fallbacks if a direct result is unavailable or a repost uses a different title.

To watch the current trailer lineup
- Go directly to rockstargames.com/VI.
- Check that the address bar remains on the rockstargames.com domain.
- Use the video area to choose Launch Trailer, An Extended Look, Trailer 2 or Trailer 1.
- Read the surrounding page information if you also need the current platforms, release information or pre-order route.
To verify when an announcement was published
- Open the GTA VI Newswire archive.
- Find the entry whose headline matches the trailer or update you are checking.
- Record the publication date shown on the Rockstar page.

You need the original image rather than a screenshot
Follow the media/download link from the GTA VI hub and select the relevant asset category. The listed inventory distinguishes full videos, short clips, screenshots and wallpaper artwork.
You see a claim that the Extended Look is exclusive to one service
Rockstar’s August 6 announcement named Netflix, its official YouTube channel and the GTA VI site. The August 27 update confirmed availability on YouTube and the GTA VI site and said it was playing on Netflix, so check those first-party or explicitly confirmed destinations.
An old article still says “coming in 2025”
Treat that as historical coverage of Trailer 1. Verify the current date on the GTA VI hub and consult the November 6, 2025 release-date update in the Newswire archive before repeating the claim.
