All six Testing Facilities in CONTROL Resonant are underground, so a map pin can lead to an empty street rather than the entrance. Use the nearby construction pit, sewer, shaft, or pipe route to get below ground. Each lab contains one of two experiments: a Soda Dispenser state puzzle or a Power Core charge puzzle. Solve it, then activate the console switch to register the shutdown for Unsupervised Science.
All Testing Facility locations and entrance routes
PowerPyx’s September 2026 walkthrough says entering any facility starts Unsupervised Science, and the six sites can be completed in any order. The table gives the zone, the entrance landmark reported by walkthroughs, and the experiment type. Check the in-game map and quest log as you approach: the pin marks the underground lab, not always the street-level way in.

| Zone | Where to look for the entrance | Experiment |
|---|---|---|
| Downtown | At the construction site in the Deserted Area, by the Testing Facility Reade building on its east side. Drop into the ground-floor pipe. | Soda Dispenser |
| Central | Find the open pit or construction site east or southeast of the Patterned Factory, then follow the pipe at the bottom. | Power Core |
| Evacuation Zone | Look beside or below the Survivalist’s Bunker fast-travel point for a shaft or drainage route. | Soda Dispenser |
| West Incursion Zone | Search south of the House of Mirrors for the construction pit; walkthroughs describe the second lane from the bottom. Follow the pipe down. | Soda Dispenser |
| The Park | Use the northeast sewer route. Walkthroughs describe two sewer approaches, including one from the east side. | Power Core |
| Unknown | Near the Twisted Rooftops fast-travel area, around the middle-west of the marker. Enter through the construction pit and follow the pipe. | Power Core |
Why the map marker seems to point nowhere
The facility marker identifies the lab’s underground position, not necessarily a door at street level. If the pin appears to sit in an empty street, search the surrounding block for a construction site, open pit, sewer access, or shaft. At the Evacuation Zone facility, a coordinates file can mark the other sites on the map.
How to solve the two experiment types
The six rooms use two puzzle families, with three sites for each. The starting objects and room layouts can vary, so follow the visible state or charge indicators rather than relying on a fixed sequence.

- SHARED LEGACY. NEW THREAT: FBC Director Jesse Faden's lockdown is no longer holding. A paranatural catastrophe has spilled beyond the Oldest House and onto the streets of Manhattan, and the Bureau's grip on containment is failing. Jesse Faden walked into the Oldest House to confront the threat within. Now Dylan must walk out of it to contain the threat beyond.
Soda Dispenser: Downtown, Evacuation Zone, and West Incursion Zone
- Read the terminal or whiteboard for the room’s state changes.
- Carry an object across the yellow lines to cycle its form. The T-intersections near the placement squares can be used to change its state.
- Check the object’s current form and place it on the matching square only when it is in the required Soda Dispenser form.
- Repeat for the remaining objects, observing each one rather than assuming its starting state matches another visit.
Power Core: Central, The Park, and Unknown
These rooms require you to manage charge by transferring it among cores. At Central, PowerPyx describes a 60-second sequence: keep the cores from overloading by moving charge where it is needed before the timer or an overload state causes failure. The number of cores and room geometry vary by site; detailed walkthroughs report five cores at The Park and Unknown. Watch the indicators and rebalance charge as the experiment runs.
Register each shutdown and finish Unsupervised Science
Completing the room puzzle does not, by itself, count as shutting down that experiment. After solving each one, return to the console and activate its shutdown switch. The quest tracks the six shutdowns separately, so check the quest log if one zone remains incomplete.

- Enter any Testing Facility to start Unsupervised Science.
- Visit all six zones in any order and complete each room’s experiment.
- After every experiment, return to its console and activate the shutdown switch.
- Once all six shutdowns are registered, go to Unknown if you are not already there. Activate the switch in the room with the Power Upgrade crate to open the Threshold route.
- Enter the opened passage and follow it to the recording to complete the side quest.
Rewards reported for the facilities
PowerPyx lists 120 Area XP per site, an Undefined Reading, and a Power Upgrade Point in an unlocked room for each facility; it also reports the Untapped Scrunchie Artifact for completing the mission. Other walkthroughs call out additional zone-specific items and notes, including these:
- Downtown: a Power Upgrade crate.
- Central: Notes From Dr. Puchalski.
- West Incursion Zone: Notes From Dr. Janson and a Power Upgrade Point.
- The Park: the Emergency Hood accessory and Notes From Dr. Roth.
- Unknown: Firebreaker Goggles and Notes From Dr. Grant.
- Evacuation Zone: the Testing Facility Coordinates file, which can mark facility locations on the map.
Reward descriptions differ in emphasis among walkthroughs, so treat the named items as reported by those guides rather than a complete official reward list.
Quick Recap
Rank #4
- RUST-PROOF ALUMINUM – BUILT TO LAST: Crafted from premium aluminum instead of ordinary tinplate, this metal wall decor develops a natural protective oxide layer that prevents rust, corrosion, and moisture damage. It stays pristine even in high-humidity areas like bathrooms, kitchens, and outdoor patios, far outlasting traditional tin signs that lose their shine and rust over time.
