On supported Intel systems, disable or change the screen-rotation shortcut in Intel Graphics Command Center: open System > Hotkeys. Older Intel installations may use Intel Graphics Control Panel instead. The exact controls depend on your graphics driver, software version, and computer manufacturer.
Disable or change the shortcut in Intel Graphics Command Center
- Search the Windows Start menu for Intel Graphics Command Center and open the app.
- Select System, then Hotkeys.
- Find the rotation shortcut and disable it or assign a different combination if those controls are available in your installed version. Intel documents this route for customizing hotkeys, but the displayed options can vary. Intel’s hotkey instructions cover supported Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 families; do not assume every menu is present on Windows 11 or every OEM system.
If you need Ctrl+Alt combinations for another app, Intel documented a conflict affecting some applications and said it was resolved in Graphics Command Center version 1.100.2970.0 and newer. Updating may address that specific conflict, but it does not guarantee that the rotation shortcut can be disabled on every PC. Intel’s version-specific conflict notice

Use the legacy Intel control panel when available
If Graphics Command Center is missing or changing its settings does not stop the rotation, check whether Intel Graphics Control Panel is installed. In that older app, open Options and Support > Hot Key Manager, select the relevant hotkey, make the change, and save the profile. Intel’s instructions for both Intel graphics utilities

Which Intel utility should you check?
| Utility | Typical use | Setting location | Platform guidance and caveats |

| Intel Graphics Control Panel | Legacy Intel graphics installations | Options and Support > Hot Key Manager | Requires a supported Intel graphics controller and correct drivers; an OEM may not provide or expose the panel. Intel |
Why the rotation control may not appear
Intel has changed the available rotation controls in some versions of Graphics Command Center. Its support notice says rotation settings and rotation hotkeys were removed from some pages, and directs users to Windows display-orientation settings or Intel Graphics Command Center Beta for changing screen orientation. That notice concerns orientation controls; it does not establish that every version offers a way to disable the shortcut. Intel’s notice on rotation and resolution controls
Intel also notes that computer manufacturers can disable certain hotkey functions. If neither utility exposes the setting, the driver package or platform may not offer Intel’s documented control. These instructions apply to the Intel utilities described above, not automatically to PCs using another graphics vendor’s software. Intel’s hotkey guidance

Check the main display if you use multiple monitors
Intel says Graphics Command Center rotation hotkeys operate only on the display marked as the main display. If you want those rotation hotkeys to act on a particular monitor, set that monitor as main in Windows display settings. This limitation explains which display responds; it does not disable the shortcut. Intel’s main-display guidance

Is Ctrl+Alt+Arrow a Windows shortcut?
Microsoft’s Windows keyboard-shortcut reference does not list Ctrl+Alt+Arrow as a standard Windows shortcut. On the supported systems covered here, the rotation behavior is associated with graphics hotkey software rather than a documented built-in Windows shortcut. Microsoft’s Windows keyboard shortcuts
