The Road to the Erdtree
The Road to the Erdtree is the ongoing comedy series about Aseo the Tarnished traveling through the Lands Between. Nikiichi Tobita is the artist and John Neal is the translator. Yen Press’ series navigation shows Volumes 1 through 9. The story follows the broad path of the game but treats its dangerous encounters, bosses and side characters as absurd comedy rather than a straight adaptation.

Distant Tales Between
Distant Tales Between is not another numbered chapter of Aseo’s quest. It is a separate spin-off by artist Haruichi, translated by Nathaniel Hiroshi Thrasher. Its first volume presents character-centered “what if” stories involving figures such as Roderika, the Blackguard, Rya and Corhyn. Yen Press describes scenarios including Roderika making friends at the Roundtable Hold and a prawn-loving thief seeking different flavors.
Volume 1 is dated August 25, 2026. It has 184 pages in paperback and 192 pages in the digital edition, so the page count and ISBN depend on the format.

Choose The Road to the Erdtree when you want an ongoing parody that follows one Tarnished from volume to volume. Choose Distant Tales Between when your interest is the wider cast and imaginative situations outside Aseo’s main route. The spin-off does not replace or renumber the main series.

Adding the spin-off
Distant Tales Between Volume 1 can be purchased alongside the main series, but it is a separate product with a different creative team, page count and ISBN. Search the full title, not just “Elden Ring manga,” to avoid confusing it with The Road to the Erdtree.

The search shows several ISBNs
Retailers often group paperback and electronic editions on one product page or show an alternate-format page. Compare the ISBN, format label and page count. For example, the two Volume 1 ISBNs supplied by Yen Press are 9781975373863 and 9781975364892, while Volume 9 uses 9798855437898 for paperback and 9798855437904 for digital.
The online listing says out of stock
Try the store locator or another Yen Press-named retailer. Online inventory and branch inventory can diverge, and a store may have a copy even when the central warehouse does not. Recheck the listing immediately before ordering because stock status changes.
The digital edition is missing in your storefront
Digital catalogs differ by country and by volume. Check the complete Yen Press retailer list for the specific book, then verify your account region and the store’s device requirements. Do not substitute a different volume’s ISBN simply because its title appears in search results.

The price differs from the publisher display
Use the publisher’s $13.00 US/$17.00 CAN paperback and $6.99 US/$8.99 CAN digital figures as reference points for the cited editions. A retailer can add tax, delivery or currency conversion, and prices may change after the 2026 listings were posted.
