Apple may introduce its first smart-home display on October 13, 2026, but the date has not been confirmed by Apple. MacRumors and 9to5Mac, citing Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, report that the company plans to unveil a screen-equipped home hub with Siri AI that day. Treat the date, product details and features as rumors until Apple announces them.
When is Apple’s smart-home display expected to be announced?
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple plans to introduce the smart-home hub on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. MacRumors reported the date on September 30, and 9to5Mac published a separate account of the Bloomberg report the same day. Neither report is an Apple announcement, and the Apple materials reviewed do not confirm the date or product details.

MacRumors says the reported lineup also includes an updated HomePod mini and a new Apple TV. Those are separate products, not versions of the rumored display. MacRumors’ report on the three products attributes the plan to Gurman.
What is the rumored Apple home display?
Reports describe a smart-home hub that combines a display, speaker and Siri AI. The screen could provide a way to interact with smart-home controls and other services, while the speaker and voice assistant would make the device usable without touching the screen. These are descriptions of a reported product, not confirmed specifications.

The device has not been given an established official name. “HomePad” is a convenient label used by 9to5Mac, not a name Apple has confirmed. The outlet also reports an iMac G4-inspired design and a six-inch display. 9to5Mac’s account attributes those details to Bloomberg reporting.
What might it do—and what remains uncertain?
Earlier reporting summarized by MacRumors described a HomePod-like speaker paired with an approximately seven-inch screen. It mentioned possible FaceTime, home-security monitoring, HomeKit accessory management, photo galleries, calendar, music playback and intercom features. These remain reported possibilities, not a confirmed feature list. The six-inch and approximately seven-inch screen descriptions differ between reports, so the final size is unknown.

In the reviewed material, Apple has not confirmed the October 13 announcement, the display’s name, price, shipping date, geographic availability or final specifications. If Apple does make an announcement on that date, those details would still need to come from the company rather than being inferred from pre-launch reports.

How to read the October 13 report
The clearest distinction is between the reported plan and confirmed product information: the date and device details are attributed to Gurman through Bloomberg reporting, while Apple has not verified them in the reviewed sources. The rumored display is therefore not an available retail product, and its final features, design and launch arrangements remain unknown.
