Fable is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 on February 23, 2027. The official PlayStation listing gives that date. Premium and Collector’s Edition buyers are advertised up to five days of early access starting February 18; the Standard Edition does not include that stated benefit.
Is Fable coming to PS5 Pro?
PlayStation 5 is a confirmed launch platform. The official sources reviewed do not announce a separate PS5 Pro enhancement, Pro-only mode or performance target, so there is no confirmed Pro-specific upgrade to cite. PlayStation’s Fable listing identifies the PS5 edition.

What kind of game is Fable?
Fable is described by its developer as a single-player, open-world action RPG set in Albion. Its announced features include character customization, melee, ranged and magic combat, relationships, homes and business ownership, with choices affecting reputation and the world. These are planned features as described by the publisher, not independent hands-on findings. The official Fable FAQ estimates a 15–20-hour main story and another 15–20 hours of side content, and describes more than 1,000 handcrafted NPCs; these are developer estimates and claims.

It is a new beginning rather than a continuation tied to the original games’ timeline. In an Xbox Wire interview published January 22, 2026, Fable GM and Game Director Ralph Fulton explained: “We’ve always referred to this game as a ‘new beginning’, because one of the things we were convinced of was that we had to reboot the franchise.”

What has been shown about the world and gameplay?
The announced setting includes a reimagined Albion. A June 7, 2026 Fable team announcement introduced Isabel, the Hero of Wraithmarsh, performed by Hayley Atwell, and teased Jack of Blades, Demon Doors and a chicken-kicking minigame.
An Xbox Wire gamescom report dated August 28, 2026 describes an 18-minute quest presentation through Bowerstone, Albion’s capital. The presented sequence included entering buildings, buying houses, meeting Humphry, combat and choices with consequences. This is a publisher account of a gameplay presentation, not a review of the finished game.
