SteamDeckHQ announced a full website redesign on October 3, 2026, updating more than its homepage. The changes cover article reading, game reviews, deals discovery and reader profiles, with community ratings and optional Steam-account linking among the additions. Some hardware coverage and other features remain plans rather than launched capabilities.
What changed across the site
In its October 3, 2026 announcement, SteamDeckHQ CEO and Editor in Chief Noah Kupetsky described the redesign as a “completely redesigned UI and brand new features.” The changes span the publication’s homepage, articles, reviews, deals and account experience.

Homepage and article reading
The refreshed homepage features stories and recent articles that update in real time, along with visible filters intended to help readers filter out unwanted news. Article pages add estimated reading times and a progress bar at the top that tracks reading as a visitor scrolls. A light/dark toggle lets readers switch from the default black background to a white background.
Steam Deck reviews
Steam Deck reviews move from star ratings to numerical scores. Pages also introduce community voting, a percentage summary, a score breakdown, a community rating and a chart, giving readers publication and community assessments in the same review experience. Recommended settings have updated icons and can be collapsed. Reviews also link to Steam and, when a game is on sale elsewhere, to deal websites.

Nintendo and hardware reviews
Nintendo reviews and accessory or hardware reviews have also been redesigned. The announcement specifically notes that Nintendo review scores now appear at the top of the page.
How community ratings fit with review scores
The redesign presents the publication’s numerical review score alongside a separate community rating and voting-related information. Those are distinct signals: a community rating reflects user input, while the publication score remains the review’s own assessment. The announcement does not specify how votes are weighted, who can vote, or the exact calculation behind the percentage summary.

What the deals page and Steam linking offer
Dedicated deals discovery
A new deals page gathers Steam Deck deals articles and recommendations for games considered good experiences on the Deck. Review pages can also link to deal websites when a reviewed game is on sale elsewhere; the announcement does not identify a specific merchant or describe an affiliate arrangement.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteOptional Steam account linking
Readers can create a SteamDeckHQ account and link a Steam account. If that Steam account is public, SteamDeckHQ says it can match games in the reader’s library and wishlist against its review database. The site also describes recommendations based on a reader’s library and playing habits. The announcement does not explain the recommendation criteria or provide privacy-policy details for linked account data.

What is available now and what is still planned
The announcement describes the redesigned reading, review, deals and profile features as part of the new site experience. It also distinguishes those introduced changes from future coverage and possible additions:
- Steam Machine: A section is present, with reviews and recommended settings described as plans.
- Steam Frame: Its section is described as “coming soon”; reviews and recommended settings are plans, not established current features.
- Badges: Users can earn account badges through site interactions. Examples include owning a Steam Deck or Steam Machine and commenting. Additional badges are only a possibility.
The announcement does not give launch dates for the planned device reviews and settings, nor does it provide usage metrics or usability-test results. Details may also have changed since the announcement’s publication.
