For the Reality Fracture release, a Magic: The Gathering Prerelease Pack includes six Reality Fracture Play Boosters, one traditional foil promo card, a Jace-themed deck box, and a spindown die. Players use the pack’s contents and basic lands to build a 40-card sealed deck; Wizards’ contents list does not say that basic lands are included in the pack.

Yes. The guide says to make a 40-card sealed deck using the pack’s contents and any number of basic lands. Basic lands are part of the deck-building instructions, but they are not listed as an item inside the Prerelease Pack. Wizards describes Prerelease events as casual gatherings for players of all skill levels.

- Pre-release packs are the perfect way to play sealed with your friends!
Do Prerelease Pack contents vary by set?
Use the guide for the specific set you’re attending. Recent guides show a recurring core—six Play Boosters, a promo, a deck box, and a spindown die—but the details are not guaranteed to be identical for every set.
- The Lorwyn Eclipsed Prerelease Guide also lists six Play Boosters, a traditional foil promo, a deck box, and a spindown die. It notes that its Prerelease Pack promo cards are no longer year stamped.
- The The Hobbit Prerelease Guide lists six Play Boosters, a foil promo, a deck box, and a spindown die.
Those examples illustrate why it is worth checking the current set’s guide, especially for the promo treatment and other set-specific details.

Is a Prerelease Pack the same as a booster box?
No. The Prerelease Pack is described as an event-registration item: Wizards says attendees receive one when they register for a Prerelease event. A Reality Fracture Play Booster box is a separate product containing 30 Play Boosters. Wizards’ product page mentions retailers, but that does not establish that the Prerelease Pack is sold standalone.
