In Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Rescue Mission, the objective is completed by inspecting five green decorations on the first floor of Oogie Boogie’s Mirror Lair. You must move close enough for the interaction prompt to appear and activate it for every piece; merely seeing or walking past an object does not count.
Find all five pieces on the first floor
The game’s wording can make these objects sound like collectibles scattered throughout the lair. They are a fixed set on the first floor. Use the surrounding furniture and counters as landmarks instead of relying only on the shade of green: some pieces glow brightly, while others are darker and easy to miss against the lair’s decorations.

Green polar bear
Start in the left corner of the first floor and inspect the couch nearest the stairs that lead toward Oogie Boogie’s wheel. The bear is a green decorative figure sitting on that couch. Approach the couch from more than one angle if necessary; the prompt may not appear while you are standing at the edge of the room or behind another furnishing. Once the prompt appears, activate it and wait for the inspection to register before moving on.

Search the left stairwell after checking the couch. The plant is tucked beside, or slightly behind, the staircase, so it can disappear from view when you approach from the open floor. Walk along both sides of the stair structure and look upward as well as at floor level. You are looking for a hanging pot with a green appearance, not a loose plant elsewhere in the lair. Interact only after the game displays the prompt.

Green wall lantern
Follow the left wall toward the Snake and Spider Stew counter. The lantern is attached to the wall or a nearby pillar, close to the red and purple skeletons. Because it is mounted rather than placed on the floor, it is easy to pass without aiming the camera at it. Stand directly beside the wall or pillar, adjust your view toward the lantern, and activate the interaction when it appears.
Green potion bottles
Go to the counter behind the large central lava pit and find the cash register. The required potion bottles sit on that counter. The lava pit can block a straight approach, so walk around the pit until you can stand beside the register and face the bottles. Check the counter surface carefully: the target is the green bottle grouping, not an unrelated container or decoration on another level.
Green pedestal
Finish in the right-hand corner of the first floor, where a couch sits near the crafting station. The green pedestal is positioned in that corner. Furniture can hide the interaction point if you approach from the center of the room, so circle the couch and the station until the prompt appears. Activate the pedestal, then verify that the objective has updated before leaving the floor.

A reliable search route
A consistent route prevents you from revisiting the same corner and helps reveal whether an item was skipped. Remain on the first floor for the entire inspection. The route below follows the room’s landmarks rather than an assumed compass direction.
- Begin at the left-corner couch and inspect the polar bear.
- Walk to the adjacent left staircase and check beside and behind it for the hanging plant.
- Continue along the left wall to the stew counter and skeletons, then inspect the mounted lantern.
- Move around the central lava pit to the counter with the cash register and inspect the potion bottles.
- Cross to the right-hand corner, circle the couch and crafting station, and inspect the pedestal.
- Pause after the fifth interaction and check the Rescue Mission objective. The confrontation sequence should become available only when all five inspections have registered.
This route is not a timing challenge. You can move slowly, reposition the camera, and return to a previous landmark without losing progress. The important distinction is between locating an object visually and completing its interaction.
Why an object can look present but still be “missing”
Seeing it is not an inspection
The objective tracks activated interactions, not objects that enter your field of view. Walking past the bear, looking at the lantern, or standing near the bottles without the prompt does not add to the count. Treat each piece as unfinished until you have deliberately activated its prompt.

The prompt is angle-dependent
Decorative geometry can block the interaction point. A couch, stair rail, wall edge, or counter may leave you close to the object but outside the prompt’s usable angle. Take a short step around the obstruction, turn the camera toward the item, and try again. For wall-mounted objects, stand parallel to the wall; for counter objects, approach from the side with the clearest view of the surface.

Color is an unreliable search tool
The pieces share a green theme, but they do not all have the same brightness. Neon-looking objects are obvious, while darker green pieces can blend into the Mirror Lair’s lighting and surrounding props. Use the couch, stair, skeleton, register, lava pit, and crafting station landmarks in the table rather than scanning the room for the brightest glow.
You may be on the wrong floor
The required set is on the first floor. If you are searching another level, the objective will not advance even if you find similar-looking decor. Return to the first-floor room and repeat the landmark route there.

What to do when the objective still does not advance
If the Rescue Mission marker remains unchanged, assume one interaction did not register and perform a deliberate recount. Do not rely on memory of where you looked; use the following recovery procedure.
- Return to the first floor and open the objective so you can monitor its status.
- Revisit each of the five landmarks in route order.
- At every piece, stop until the interaction prompt is visible, then activate it. If no prompt appears, move in a small circle around the couch, stairwell, wall or pillar, counter, or right-corner furniture.
- After each activation, allow the game a moment to acknowledge the interaction before traveling to the next landmark.
- When all five have been deliberately activated, check the objective again. If it remains incomplete, repeat the route and focus on the item whose prompt was hardest to obtain rather than searching random rooms.
The most common cause of an apparent missing piece is an incomplete interaction, not a different spawn location. A visual check alone cannot substitute for the activation.

Use a simple five-entry checklist while moving through the room:
- Bear: left-corner couch by the stairs toward Oogie Boogie’s wheel.
- Plant: beside or behind the left staircase.
- Lantern: left wall or pillar by the Snake and Spider Stew counter and the two colored skeletons.
- Bottles: counter behind the central lava pit, beside the cash register.
- Pedestal: right corner by the couch and crafting station.
Mark an entry only after activating its prompt. If you cannot recall doing that for one item, count it as unchecked and revisit it. This avoids assuming that a brief camera pass completed the task.
What happens after all five are inspected
The decorations are part of the Rescue Mission sequence involving the Ghosties and Oogie Boogie. Once the game has recorded all five inspections, return to the quest flow rather than continuing to search the lair for additional green objects. The next progression is the confrontation with Oogie Boogie about the Ghosties in the glowing decor.
If the confrontation does not begin immediately, confirm that the objective text has changed and that you are still following the active Rescue Mission marker. There is no sixth item in the required first-floor set described above; continuing to hunt for another decoration is unlikely to solve an interaction that never registered.

- Are you on the first floor of Oogie Boogie’s Mirror Lair?
- Did you inspect all five landmarks, rather than only spotting them?
- Did the interaction prompt appear before you activated each piece?
- Did you circle furniture or adjust your camera when a prompt was hidden?
- Did you check darker green objects instead of searching only for neon highlights?
- Did you verify the objective after the fifth activation?
Following those checks resolves the normal “missing odd decor” problem: the five required green pieces are fixed around the first floor, and the Rescue Mission advances after each one has been actively inspected.
