Start with Your Orders on Amazon.com and open the affected order. Check its status, then use the support or return options shown for that specific order. Prime Day does not create a separate order-support process or guarantee a particular remedy: what happens next depends on whether the order is delayed, canceled, or damaged, and who fulfilled it.
If your order is delayed
- Open Your Orders. Check the estimated delivery date and the latest tracking details. Also check your email and any carrier notifications for updates.
- Allow 48 hours after the estimated delivery date. Amazon’s Late Deliveries guidance says most delayed deliveries arrive within that interval and advises customers to wait before seeking help. It is guidance, not a guaranteed delivery window. Amazon’s page says, “After 48 hours have passed, Customer Service will be able to help you.”
- Choose the contact route shown for the shipment. After that 48-hour period, Amazon directs customers to Customer Service for orders shipped by Amazon, and to contact the seller when a third-party seller shipped and sold the order.
If the order had a guaranteed delivery date and arrived late, Amazon’s help page describes a shipping-fee refund route: Problem with an order → Shipping or delivery issues → Shipment is late. This applies only where the order had a late guaranteed delivery and a shipping fee to refund; not every Prime order meets those conditions.

If Amazon canceled your order
Open the order details and check the cancellation reason and payment or refund status. If either is unclear, contact Customer Service through the order. Amazon’s Customer Service page lists help with order and refund status.
For an undeliverable package, Amazon says it returns the package and processes a refund. Its stated expectation is that the refund will arrive within seven business days after Amazon receives the return. That timeframe is for the documented undeliverable-package situation, not a general deadline for every cancellation.

If you still want the item, check its current listing price. Amazon’s published help information does not promise that it will honor the Prime Day price on a replacement order. You can ask Customer Service whether an option is available for your particular order.
If your item arrived damaged
- In Your Orders, select Return or replace items beside the affected item, if that option appears.
- Choose the reason and provide the details requested. Amazon may ask for photos; if it does, make the damage clear. Keep the item and packaging until you understand the order-specific instructions.
- Review whether a replacement is in stock and check the displayed delivery date. Amazon says a replacement uses the same shipping speed as the original, but it may not ship until the original item is returned. The delivery date can vary with stock.
- If no replacement is offered, Amazon’s replacement guidance says to return the item and place a new order.
Amazon’s return policy says most eligible items may be returned for a refund or replacement or exchange within 30 days of delivery if they are in original or unused condition. Eligibility varies by item. For a damaged item, follow the route and instructions shown in that order rather than assuming the standard return window or remedy applies.

How long a refund can take
Refund amount and method can vary with the item’s condition, how long you held it, and purchase details. Amazon’s Refunds page says that after a return is received and processed, a refund can take up to 30 days, depending on order type, return shipping speed, processing, and payment method. “Up to 30 days” is the page’s stated maximum, not a prediction that every refund will take that long.

Check the order details to see who sold and shipped the item; the seller affects where to seek help for a delay. For a qualifying item bought from a third-party seller, Amazon’s A-to-z Guarantee identifies an item that is damaged, defective, or materially different as a potentially covered issue. The guarantee has eligibility requirements and request and return conditions, and it does not apply to every Amazon.com transaction. Check the order’s seller and the guarantee criteria before relying on it.

If you ordered with Buy with Prime on another website
A purchase made on a participating merchant’s own website using Buy with Prime is not an Amazon.com order, even if you can view it in your Amazon account. Amazon says these purchases appear in a separate Buy with Prime Orders tab, where the associated order details provide tracking, support, and return options. Use the help route for that specific transaction rather than treating it as an Amazon.com order. See Amazon’s Buy with Prime order help.
