Does Final Fantasy IX have multiplayer?
The official support and manual materials reviewed describe the game as a story-led experience but do not document a multiplayer mode. They also do not establish that every edition or feature has never included multiplayer. What are Final Fantasy IX’s save options?
Manual slots and auto-save
Square Enix support says players can create up to 10 manual save slots, while auto-saves use a separate slot. If all manual slots are occupied, overwrite an existing save; the support guidance says save slots cannot be deleted. The page does not state a publication year for this product specification. Saving in the PC manual
The PC manual describes saving at certain moogles on field maps. On the world map, call a moogle to save at any time. It also says that moving between areas triggers an auto-save, and that Continue resumes from the last auto-save location. PS4 auto-save
Square Enix lists auto-save functionality as a PS4 enhancement, along with optional boosters. That feature listing does not establish identical save menus or procedures on other platforms. See Square Enix’s PS4 feature information.
Can you transfer Final Fantasy IX saves?
Between different platforms
No. Square Enix says there is no cross-save functionality between different platforms. A save should not be expected to move between, for example, a console and a mobile version. See Square Enix’s cross-save and Cloud Sync guidance.
Between mobile devices
Square Enix describes Cloud Sync transfers between Android devices or between iPhones. Android and iOS saves are incompatible with each other, and mobile saves are incompatible with other platforms.

Square Enix says game content is the same across platforms, while graphical or optional settings can vary with hardware. Save features and transfer procedures are not universal: the PC manual gives moogle-based save instructions, Square Enix separately lists PS4 auto-save, and mobile Cloud Sync is limited to transfers within the same mobile operating system.
