What happens next depends on which Isaac you defeated. The stone-bridge battle is an illusion and gives no item. The real Isaac is in the Heart of the Clock; after that fight, collect The Zealot Arcana, Chronomantic Dive, and the Chauve-Souris spear, then leave through the right exit toward the Master’s Quarters and Dracula. After the normal ending, choose Resume to keep exploring and set up the true ending.
First, identify which Isaac fight you completed
Isaac appears twice, and the game presents the first encounter in a way that can make it seem like the story boss has already been cleared. The location determines whether you actually advanced the Isaac quest.

The bridge encounter is not the final Isaac battle
If your fight took place on the stone bridge outside the castle, you fought the illusion. That version has one health bar and does not award an Arcana, spell, or weapon. A missing reward is therefore expected; it does not mean the pickup failed to load.
The Heart of the Clock encounter is the genuine boss
The real battle takes place in the Heart of the Clock. Only this encounter produces the three post-fight rewards. If you remember Isaac’s dialogue followed by item pickups, and you were inside the clock tower rather than on the exterior bridge, you are at the point where the route to Dracula opens.

If you defeated Isaac on the stone bridge
Treat the bridge fight as a story checkpoint rather than a completed boss reward. The game requires another progression step before you can access the genuine battle.
- Continue through the castle until Death is defeated in Notre-Dame. The relevant progression item is obtained from that sequence.
- Obtain The Shadow Arcana with Soul Harvest. Soul Harvest is the ability needed for the Clock Tower route.
- Equip Soul Harvest before returning to Clock Tower Bridge. Having the Arcana in your inventory is not enough for the trap; it must be equipped when you approach the clock.
- Activate the glowing clock on Clock Tower Bridge. This interaction is the entrance to the route that leads through the tower.
- Follow the opened route to the Heart of the Clock. The destination is the real Isaac encounter, not another copy of the exterior bridge fight.
If the clock does not provide the route you expect, check the two progression conditions first: Death in Notre-Dame must be defeated, and Soul Harvest must be equipped. Returning to the bridge without that ability leaves the Clock Tower trap unresolved.
What to do immediately after the real Isaac fight
Once Isaac is defeated in the Heart of the Clock, do not leave before collecting the rewards associated with this battle. They are the progression markers that distinguish the genuine encounter from the illusion.

- Collect The Zealot Arcana. This is the Arcana awarded for the real Isaac battle.
- Pick up Chronomantic Dive. The spell is part of the same reward sequence.
- Take the Chauve-Souris spear. It appears after Isaac’s dialogue; wait for that conversation to finish and collect the weapon before moving on.
- Use the right-hand exit from the arena. That exit points toward the Master’s Quarters, which is the normal continuation of the story.
- Save at the Mirror of Life in the Sanctuary of Solitude. This is the practical save point before the next major sequence.
- Continue from the Master’s Quarters toward Dracula. The main route proceeds into Dracula’s two-form encounter.
The right exit matters because leaving by another route can send you back into exploration instead of the intended story path. If you have the three Isaac rewards and are standing in the Heart of the Clock, the next objective is not another Isaac rematch; it is the Master’s Quarters.
How the Dracula route works after Isaac
After the Heart of the Clock battle, the ordinary story route leads through Dracula’s two forms. The first completion of that sequence produces the normal ending. It is not a dead end for exploration: after the credits, choose Resume rather than treating the ending as the end of your save.
What Resume does
Resume returns you to continued play with your equipment intact. That lets you revisit the castle and complete the requirements for the true ending without discarding the progress earned in the normal route.

What not to assume
Beating both Dracula forms once does not automatically produce the true ending. The additional ending path is tied to the Four Virtue trials, The Self, Absolution, and a specific spell timing during the second Dracula form’s aftermath.
Preparing the true ending
The true-ending route is a separate objective after the normal conclusion. Use Resume, then complete the following sequence before returning to Dracula.
Complete the Four Virtue trials
Return to Notre-Dame and enter the Gallery of the Four Virtues. The gallery contains four trials, each associated with a virtue. Complete all four using their matching Arcana:

- Temperance
The important requirement is the pairing: each trial must be undertaken with the Arcana that matches its virtue. The gallery is therefore not a single optional room or one generic challenge. You must clear the complete set of Courage, Prudence, Justice, and Temperance trials.
Defeat The Self and obtain Absolution
After the Four Virtue trials are complete, defeat The Self. The reward or progression item needed for the final sequence is Absolution. Do not return to Dracula before this step is complete; defeating the trials alone is not the full true-ending requirement.

With the four trials cleared, The Self defeated, and Absolution obtained, go back to Dracula. You must still defeat both of Dracula’s forms. The true ending is determined by what you do immediately afterward, not by substituting Absolution for the boss fight.

The final input window is short and occurs after the second form falls. Cast Absolution immediately after the second form is defeated, when the post-fight dialogue begins.
- Defeat Dracula’s first form.
- Defeat Dracula’s second form.
- Wait for the second form to fall and the post-fight dialogue to start.
- During that brief transition, cast Absolution.
The timing is deliberately narrower than simply using the spell during the battle. Casting before the second form has fallen is not the specified trigger, and waiting until the dialogue sequence has passed risks missing the window. Treat the start of the post-fight dialogue as your cue.
Troubleshooting the most common post-Isaac problems

A practical route from the bridge fight to the true ending

- Bridge Isaac: keep progressing to Death in Notre-Dame, equip Soul Harvest, activate the glowing Clock Tower Bridge clock, and reach the Heart of the Clock.
- Heart-of-the-Clock Isaac: collect The Zealot Arcana, Chronomantic Dive, and Chauve-Souris, then use the right exit and save at the Sanctuary of Solitude’s Mirror of Life.
- After Dracula’s normal ending: choose Resume, complete the four matching-Arcana virtue trials in Notre-Dame’s Gallery, defeat The Self, and obtain Absolution.
- Final attempt: defeat both Dracula forms and cast Absolution as the post-fight dialogue begins immediately after the second form falls.
The central distinction is simple: the bridge fight proves only that the illusion sequence is over; the Heart of the Clock fight is the one that unlocks the rewards and the direct path toward Dracula. The true ending then adds a complete virtue-trial sequence and a precisely timed use of Absolution to the normal route.
