As of October 7, 2026, don’t buy a PC specifically for Grand Theft Auto VI based on guessed system requirements. Rockstar currently lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for pre-order, and the official release date is November 19, 2026. The official pages reviewed do not provide a PC release date or PC requirements. Buy a computer for games, work, or school you can verify it will handle today; treat GTA VI compatibility as unconfirmed until Rockstar publishes PC-specific details.
What platforms and release date has Rockstar confirmed?
Rockstar’s GTA VI platforms, editions, and versions page, last updated August 18, 2026, says: “You can pre-order Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.” The Rockstar Store listing gives a November 19, 2026 release date; Take-Two also named that date for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in its June 2026 announcement.

What PC specs will GTA 6 need?
There is no official GTA VI PC specification to use for a buying decision. That means there is no evidence-based GTA VI-ready GPU, processor, memory amount, or price tier to recommend yet. Online predictions and GTA V requirements should not be treated as a substitute for Rockstar’s eventual GTA VI requirements.

- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT 4GB Graphics | 1x HDMI | 1x DisplayPort
- Connectivity: 4 x USB-A 3.2 | 4 x USB-A 2.0 | 1 x LAN | WiFi 5 | Bluetooth 5.0 | 7.1 Channel Audio
- Tempered Side Case Panel | Custom RGB Lighting | Keyboard and Mouse

For comparison only, Rockstar’s GTA V Enhanced PC requirements list 16GB dual-channel memory and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 with 8GB VRAM or AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT with 8GB VRAM as recommended. GTA V Enhanced also lists a 105GB SSD as a minimum requirement and a 105GB DirectStorage-compatible drive as recommended. Every one of those figures applies to GTA V Enhanced, not GTA VI; transferring them to a GTA VI parts list would be guesswork.

- Buy now if: you need a computer for work or school, or you want to play other games whose requirements and performance targets you can check today. Judge the machine against those uses.
- Wait if: GTA VI is the main reason for the purchase and you would not value the computer without it. Waiting for Rockstar to announce PC support and requirements avoids paying for an unverified configuration.
- Buy for mixed uses cautiously: choose components based on your confirmed needs, but do not count GTA VI as a guaranteed compatible game when weighing the cost.
What to compare if you need a PC anyway
Compare the options against needs you can verify now. These factors can help you choose a useful computer, but they do not establish GTA VI compatibility.
- Games you play today: check each game’s published requirements and, where available, performance guidance for the settings you want.
- Resolution and frame rate: decide what display and smoothness you want for those games, then compare systems against that target rather than a speculative GTA VI target.
- Budget: set a limit for the uses you know the PC will serve; don’t pay extra on the assumption that an unannounced specification will demand it.
- Upgradeability: consider whether the desktop or laptop allows the upgrades you may want for established games and other workloads.
- Warranty and support: compare coverage and service options for the specific system and seller.
- Desktop versus laptop: weigh portability against the space and upgrade options you need. Neither form factor has confirmed GTA VI compatibility.
Does the physical edition help with a PC purchase?
No. Rockstar says the physical GTA VI version contains a download code in the box and does not include a disc; it is planned to be available starting November 12 for pre-loading. This packaging detail does not announce a PC version or make a PC recommendation possible. The currently listed pre-order platforms remain PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
