The introductory price lasts only six months. Before transferring your number, check the checkout total, renewal price, data limits, coverage where you use your phone and whether your handset is unlocked and compatible. The offer is limited-time, with no end date stated, so verify that it is still available and review the current terms at checkout.
Is the Mint Mobile deal really $10 a month?
It is $10 per month as an equivalent for the six-month introductory period, not a month-to-month checkout price. Mint requires $60 upfront for those six months, and taxes and fees are extra. Mint’s FAQ also notes that a Recovery Fee and location-based telecom taxes may apply, as may shipping and handling. Check the final checkout total before paying, then compare it with what you pay your current carrier over the same period. T-Mobile Newsroom’s October 8, 2026 announcement describes the offer as limited-time but does not give an end date.

What happens after the Mint Mobile promotion ends?
After six months, the introductory deal ends and you need to choose a full-price renewal option. Mint’s FAQ lists these rates for 12-month renewals:

| Plan | 12-month renewal rate listed by Mint |
|---|---|
| 6GB | $15/month |
| 17GB | $20/month |
| 23GB | $25/month |
| Unlimited | $30/month |
These are Mint’s listed 12-month renewal rates, not a guarantee that the same options will be available to every customer or at every checkout. Mint says introductory prices can differ from limited-time promotions. Confirm the renewal choices and required term shown in your account or at checkout, and compare the full prepaid cost—not just the monthly equivalent—with your current plan. Mint’s FAQ explains its pricing and renewal terms.

Which plan fits your data use?
Mint currently lists 6GB, 17GB, 23GB and Unlimited plans. Check your usage in your current carrier account or your phone’s cellular settings, including hotspot use, before selecting a tier. If you routinely exceed a plan’s allowance, Mint says data is slowed rather than cut off; you can buy an add-on or upgrade.
Understand the limits behind “Unlimited”
- Mint says the first 50GB of Unlimited data is at 5G/4G LTE speeds. The October 2026 announcement says usage above 50GB in a month may be slowed when the network is busy.
- Hotspot use comes out of your plan’s monthly data allowance. Mint limits hotspot data to 20GB on Unlimited.
- Mint lists unlimited talk and text, high-speed data, mobile hotspot, Wi-Fi Calling and Scam Screener. It also lists calling to Mexico, Canada and the UK, texts to more than 190 countries and destinations, and Canada roaming with unlimited talk and text plus 3GB of high-speed data.
Mint says international features are not intended for extended international use. If you rely on roaming or calling abroad, check the current feature terms for your destinations and usage before switching. The October 8 announcement describes the plan lineup and feature highlights; Mint’s FAQ covers plan and data terms.

Will Mint Mobile work where you live?
Check Mint’s coverage map for your home, workplace and places you visit often. A broad coverage claim cannot guarantee reception at a particular address: Mint notes that terrain, buildings, weather and other conditions can affect service. If possible, use the trial to check reception during your normal routines before committing to a full plan. Mint’s coverage map is the place to check specific locations.
Can you keep your phone and number if you switch to Mint?
You can bring your phone if it is both unlocked and compatible. Use Mint’s compatibility checker for the exact handset, and ask your current carrier to unlock it if needed. Buy a replacement only if the phone fails those checks. Mint offers instant eSIM delivery for eligible unlocked phones and physical SIM delivery; verify that your device supports the option you intend to use, especially if it is an eSIM-only model. Mint’s compatibility checker can help verify your handset.

What do you need to transfer your number?
Before starting activation, gather the details Mint requests from your current carrier:
- Your carrier account number
- The billing ZIP code on the account
- The number transfer PIN or account PIN; which one is required varies by carrier
Keep your old line active until Mint activation and the number transfer are complete. Do not cancel the old service first, or you may interrupt the transfer. For multiple lines, activate each line individually and activate the primary account holder’s line last. Mint’s switching FAQ provides its porting guidance.

Should you try Mint before switching?
Mint’s seven-day free trial uses a new number and includes 250 minutes, 250 texts and 250MB of data. Mint says each customer can have one trial. That limited allowance may help you check reception in your usual locations, but it is not a full test of normal data use.
Mint describes a separate seven-day money-back policy for full phone plan purchases made on its website or app: customers may cancel within seven days of activation for a refund of the purchase price, including fees and taxes, but shipping is not refunded. Confirm the terms that apply to your specific purchase. The trial and the refund policy are distinct; check Mint’s current terms before relying on either. Mint’s FAQ sets out both policies.
