Before paying once for lifetime access to an AI tool, verify what the license actually covers, whether model use or credits are included, what can change or end, and how your data is handled. “Lifetime” means the entitlement defined in that offer’s terms—not necessarily permanent service or perpetual access to every model and feature.
What does “lifetime” mean in the offer?
Look for the definition in the terms that govern the purchase, not just the sales-page headline. “Lifetime” may refer to the commercial life of a platform or service rather than the buyer’s lifetime. For example, CUE’s terms tie eligible core features to the platform’s commercial life and end the entitlement if that core platform is discontinued. Learnitive’s terms likewise define the relevant life by the service and do not guarantee that every feature, model, integration, or provider will remain available. These are examples of how terms can differ, not universal definitions.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Does the license cover your lifetime, the product’s commercial life, a particular platform, or a software generation?
- Can the vendor retire features, change supported models, suspend access, or discontinue the service?
- Is the license tied to one account or device, and can it be transferred?
- Are future major versions, integrations, support, or new features included, or sold separately?
Save the offer page and applicable terms as they appeared at checkout. The written purchase terms are the best record of what was promised.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesDoes the lifetime deal include AI credits and the models you need?
Do not assume that lifetime access to an app includes the cost of running AI models. Check which named models are covered, whether names are guaranteed or replaceable, and whether there are credits, quotas, fair-use limits, rate limits, or separate API and compute charges.

Ideal for gaming, video editing, and multitasking, it provides expansive and crisp multi-display support.
CUE’s terms provide a specific example: AI access is excluded from lifetime membership unless the purchase description explicitly includes it. The terms also say promotional credits may have limits or expiration rules that can change. Credit use can vary with the model and provider, request and response size, context, tools, and other compute use. This describes CUE’s terms, not another vendor’s offer.
- How many credits or requests are included, and do they renew or expire?
- Do limits apply to long-context requests, voice, image generation, or more expensive models?
- What happens when the allowance runs out: access stops, you buy a top-up, or requests shift to another model?
- Can the vendor change the included models, credit amount, or usage rules?
How much could it cost over the period you expect to use it?
Compare the one-time price with the likely total cost of using the tool—not just the advertised tier. Estimate your normal usage and determine whether the included allowance covers it. Add likely top-ups, upgrades, separate API or compute costs, and any attached recurring subscription. Then compare that total with a monthly plan over the same expected period.
A lifetime tier may not be the less expensive choice if it excludes the models or usage level you need. For variable credit systems, ask for the overage price and whether the provider can change it.

What happens if features change or the service ends?
Read clauses about feature modification, replacement, discontinuation, account suspension, model-provider changes, and service termination. Check whether the vendor promises notice, continued access to core features, support, or a way to export your work. The CUE and Learnitive terms illustrate why continuity depends on the exact contract; they do not predict that either service will close.
Consider whether you could still use or retrieve your work if the online service became unavailable. If export is offered, check what it includes and whether it is available before account closure.
What are the full payment, refund, and cancellation terms?
Confirm the amount charged today, taxes, any recurring charges associated with AI usage or third-party services, upgrade fees, and the refund deadline and conditions. If checkout attaches a subscription, find its cancellation route and whether canceling it affects the lifetime license.

For U.S. consumers, the FTC’s subscription policy statement emphasizes clear disclosure of material terms, informed consent, and easy cancellation; it calls for businesses to “Provide easy and simple cancellation to the consumer.” See the FTC policy statement. Rules vary by jurisdiction. In a separate 2026 enforcement example, the FTC announced a $35 million Shutterstock settlement concerning allegations about subscription disclosures, consent, billing, and cancellation practices. That settlement is not evidence that lifetime AI offers generally are unlawful or that a particular offer violates the law; see the FTC announcement.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →How will the vendor handle your prompts and files?
Read the privacy policy and AI-specific terms before uploading sensitive material. Check whether prompts and files may be retained or used for training or other purposes, which processors receive them, how deletion and export work, what happens when you close the account, and whether the vendor can change its data-use terms.
The FTC says AI companies must honor their commitments to customers and warns against quietly changing terms to allow broader data use. Its guidance on AI privacy promises is U.S.-focused and does not determine rights in every jurisdiction. Avoid entering confidential data until the vendor’s stated practices meet your needs.

How to compare two lifetime offers
Use the same criteria for each offer, and compare the operative terms rather than marketing claims.
| Comparison point | What to record |
|---|---|
| License scope | Covered features and version; transfer or device limits; future upgrades and support |
| AI access | Included models, credits or quotas, expiration, rate limits, overages, and separate charges |
| Continuity | Feature-change and shutdown terms; suspension rules; export options |
| Cost and exit | Total amount, taxes, recurring charges, refund conditions, cancellation steps |
| Data practices | Training use, retention, processors, deletion, export, and policy-change notices |
There is no universal score that can establish whether a lifetime deal is worthwhile. The decision depends on whether the written entitlement, expected usage cost, continuity terms, and data practices fit your needs.

A final pre-purchase check
- Open the offer’s terms and identify exactly what “lifetime” covers.
- Confirm which AI models and usage allowance are included, and what happens when limits are reached.
- Estimate your likely total cost, including recurring charges and top-ups.
- Check feature-change, suspension, shutdown, support, and export provisions.
- Record the refund deadline, cancellation route, and data-use terms; save the checkout offer and terms.
This is a consumer checklist, not individualized legal advice. FTC guidance cited here is U.S.-focused; rely on the terms for your specific purchase and applicable local law.
