The 2026 Halloween event in Disney Dreamlight Valley awards four Halloween Town crafting recipes, the returning Haunted Well, three Jack-O’-Lantern decorations, Mickey Mouse Pumpkin, Pumpkin Stack, and two Trick-or-Treater’s Bounties. You earn them by eating or giving away candy, wearing a mask, harvesting pumpkins, completing the Haunted Well puzzle, and repeating daily Trick-or-Treat interactions with villagers.
Gameloft’s event runs from October 14 through October 31, 2026. The sections below list every duty, its exact requirement, and its reward, then explain the fastest way to obtain the candy and unlock each item.

The 2026 duties fall into six requirement types: eating sweets, gifting candy, eating all three candy colors, wearing a mask, harvesting pumpkins, and completing Trick-or-Treat or Haunted Well activities. This table puts every known requirement beside its reward.

The three Sugar Rush entries are cumulative thresholds: the 15-, 30-, and 45-sweet milestones award three different lanterns. The other duties award one item when their stated target is reached.

When the event runs and where candy comes from
Event dates
The 2026 Trick or Treat event is active from October 14 through October 31, inclusive. Candy bowls and the daily lantern interactions use separate spawn systems, so you should check both.
Candy Bowls in the Plaza
From October 14 through October 30, the Plaza receives two Red Candy Bowls, two Purple Candy Bowls, and two Green Candy Bowls every 24 hours. Each bowl gives two candies of its color. That is four candies of each color per daily bowl reset if you collect all six bowls.
On October 31, two bowls of each color appear every hour instead of once per day. The final day therefore provides repeated opportunities, but only while the hourly spawns are available and collected.
Daily Trick-or-Treat lanterns
Lit Jack-O’-Lanterns appear outside the homes of Mickey Mouse, WALL-E, Daisy, Stitch, Mike Wazowski, and Jack Skellington. Interact with each lantern to start Trick or Treat. Every interaction gives 5 Green Candy, 5 Red Candy, and 5 Purple Candy. The lanterns return after the daily reset.

Completing all six daily interactions produces 30 candies of each color, calculated from the five-of-each-color reward per interaction. These interactions also advance the Sweet n’ Scary milestones and count toward the 10-villager candy-gifting duty, so they are the most efficient routine to repeat each day.
How to earn each decoration and bounty
Sugar Rush: three Jack-O’-Lanterns
Eat 15 sweets for the Happy Jack-O’-Lantern, 30 sweets for the Mischievous Jack-O’-Lantern, and 45 sweets for the Friendly Jack-O’-Lantern. Any event candy counts as a sweet. You can eat candy from the inventory as soon as you collect it; there is no requirement to use a particular color for these thresholds.
If you are saving candy for villagers or recipes, collect several days of bowls and Trick-or-Treat rewards first, then consume enough to cross the next threshold. Because the targets are cumulative, eating 45 sweets reaches all three Sugar Rush rewards rather than only the final lantern.

Trick or Treat: Mickey Mouse Pumpkin
Give candy to 10 villagers to complete the Trick or Treat duty and receive Mickey Mouse Pumpkin. The candy may be red, green, or purple. The daily lantern interactions supply candy and also provide the villagers needed for the broader event routine, but the reward specifically requires gifting candy to villagers rather than merely collecting it.

Talk to a villager, choose the gift option, select an event candy, and continue until 10 villagers have received candy. Track the duty counter after each gift so you do not confuse candy collected from a lantern with candy delivered to a character.
A 3-Course Halloween Meal!: Green Trick-or-Treater’s Bounty
Eat at least one Red Candy, one Green Candy, and one Purple Candy. The order does not matter. This is a color-combination requirement, not a total-count threshold, so one of each color completes the duty even if you have not reached 15 sweets for Sugar Rush.
Villainy Wears Many Masks: Purple Trick-or-Treater’s Bounty
Wear one mask to claim the Purple Trick-or-Treater’s Bounty. Open your wardrobe, select a mask in the face or headwear category, equip it, and allow the duty to register. The requirement is to wear a mask, not to own a particular design or keep it equipped for a set duration.

Harvest 100 pumpkins for the Pumpkin Stack decoration. Pumpkins must be grown and harvested; simply placing pumpkin furniture or picking up unrelated crops does not satisfy this target. Plant enough pumpkin plots to make repeated harvests practical, then harvest the mature crops until the counter reaches 100.

How to unlock Haunted Well
Haunted Well is tied to an activity rather than a numbered eating or gifting threshold. Forest of Valor must be unlocked first. After that, complete the activity in this order:
- Go to the Plaza and find the event chest.
- Use the memory clue obtained from the chest to identify the next step.
- Complete the candy puzzle indicated by the clue.
- Finish the activity to receive the Haunted Well decoration.
If the chest or puzzle does not appear, confirm that Forest of Valor is unlocked and that you are looking in the Plaza rather than another biome. The activity is described as returning in 2026, so players who completed it in an earlier Halloween event should still follow the current event prompt rather than assuming the reward is automatically restored.

These are recipe unlocks, not finished furniture items. After a recipe is available, craft the object at a crafting station using the candy costs below.

Altogether, crafting one of each recipe requires 11 Red Candy, 11 Green Candy, and 11 Purple Candy. That total is separate from the candy you spend eating sweets or gifting villagers.
Getting Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl recipe
Players who do not already own Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl receive its recipe by in-game mail at the start of the event. Check the mailbox associated with your Valley profile before assuming the recipe is missing. This bowl recipe is separate from the Plaza bowls that spawn event candy.
A practical route for completing everything
- Start with the mailbox. Collect Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl recipe if it is not already in your collection.
- Check all six homes each day. Visit Mickey, WALL-E, Daisy, Stitch, Mike Wazowski, and Jack Skellington, and interact with every lit lantern.
- Collect the Plaza bowls. Before October 31, return after the 24-hour reset; on October 31, check hourly when you are playing.
- Reserve candy for the recipe milestones. Keep at least 11 of each color if you intend to craft every Halloween Town item.
- Gift 10 villagers. Use spare candy to complete the Mickey Mouse Pumpkin duty.
- Eat the three colors and then progress Sugar Rush. Consume one of each color for the meal duty, then eat additional sweets until you reach 15, 30, and 45 total.
- Equip any mask. The mask duty can be completed immediately once one is available in your wardrobe.
- Harvest pumpkins continuously. Plant new crops after each harvest so the 100-pumpkin requirement progresses while you work on other duties.
- Complete Haunted Well separately. Unlock Forest of Valor, find the Plaza chest, follow its memory clue, and solve the candy puzzle.
This order prevents a common resource mistake: spending all candy on Sugar Rush before retaining enough of each color for the four recipes and the three-color meal.

What is new in 2026?
Trick-or-Treat interactions at six villagers’ homes and the Sweet n’ Scary achievement ladder are new parts of the 2026 event. The ladder adds the Halloween Town Fence, Gravestone, Graveyard Statue, and Mausoleum recipes.
Several other rewards return from earlier Halloween events: the three Jack-O’-Lanterns, Mickey Mouse Pumpkin, Pumpkin Stack, both Trick-or-Treater’s Bounties, and Haunted Well. The 2025 announcement also described candy as usable either by eating it or gifting it for event duties. In 2024, the event returned from October 23 through October 31 with a newly introduced reward, establishing the seasonal event’s continuing format.

Common problems and fixes
- A duty is not counting candy: verify that the item is Red, Green, or Purple Candy from the Halloween event, and check whether the duty requires eating or gifting rather than collecting.
- The three-color meal is incomplete: eat at least one candy of each color; eating three candies of one color is not equivalent.
- Mickey Mouse Pumpkin has not unlocked: gift candy to 10 separate villagers and confirm the counter increases after each completed gift.
- Sweet n’ Scary is not advancing: interact with the lit lanterns at the six listed homes. Picking up a Plaza bowl does not count as a Trick-or-Treat interaction.
- Haunted Well cannot be found: unlock Forest of Valor, then search the Plaza for the chest and use its memory clue before attempting the candy puzzle.
- A Halloween Town object cannot be crafted: first reach its Sweet n’ Scary interaction milestone, then gather the listed quantity of all three candy colors.
- Daily lanterns are absent: wait for the daily reset; the lanterns return daily rather than remaining permanently active after one interaction.
