1. Enter the 2026 Haunted Floating Festival
Ghost Hunt is part of the limited-time Haunted Floating Festival. Travel to the event content in your current game and enter the event area. Because Puzzle 9 unlocked on October 18, 2026, it may not be available during the earlier part of the festival.
2. Go into the haunted house
The ghosts used for this puzzle are in the festival’s haunted house. Enter that building before searching for targets. The event announcement and event reference describe the haunted house as the location for the 10-ghost photography task.

3. Equip the in-game camera
Use Disney Dreamlight Valley’s built-in camera, not an external screenshot tool. Frame a ghost and take a photograph. Controls and button prompts can differ by platform, so follow the camera prompt shown by your version of the game.

4. Photograph all 10 ghosts
Continue through the haunted house until the game has counted 10 successful photographs. A picture taken outside the event area, without a ghost in frame, or before the game registers the target may not advance the puzzle. The meaningful checkpoint is the in-game count, not the number of screenshots saved on your console or computer.
5. Wait for the completion response
After the tenth successful photograph, the ghosts disappear. That disappearance is the puzzle’s completion signal. At that point, the photography requirement has been met and the reward pouch should be available for collection.
6. Open the Haunted Floating Festival Pouch
The pouch is a quest-reward container. Open it through the normal item or reward interaction in your game. The pouch page identifies its contents as Ghost; opening it adds that furniture item to your furniture collection so you can place it in the Valley.

- Confirm the completion signal. Make sure all 10 photographs were registered and that the ghosts disappeared. If ghosts remain, the game may not have counted one or more shots.
- Search the event area again. Look for the pouch where you completed the puzzle and check nearby interactable objects.
- Check the main Valley. Visit your Valley’s biomes and look for the pouch there, since some players have reported that placement rather than delivery inside the mansion.
- Inspect your inventory and reward screens. The pouch may already have been collected or moved into an inventory category. Open it if present; the expected contents are Ghost.
- Restart the game only after checking both locations. A restart can refresh event objects, but it cannot substitute for the required tenth successful photograph.
Do not assume the reward is a second furniture item if Ghost is already in your collection. The documented payout is one Ghost item delivered through one Haunted Floating Festival Pouch.
Do Ghost Hunt choices change the reward?
