Star Wars Zero Company is a single-player, turn-based tactics game set near the end of the Clone Wars. You lead Hawks, a former Republic officer, and a mixed squad of specialists through tactical missions, investigations, and a story about a new threat to the galaxy. EA says the game launched worldwide on August 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
What is Star Wars Zero Company?
Developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, Star Wars Zero Company is a squad-based strategy game rather than an action game. Players plan their team’s positions and actions during turn-based combat, then manage the squad and make decisions between missions.

The story follows Hawks, a former Republic officer who leads Zero Company, an unconventional group of professionals for hire recruited from across the galaxy. The official reveal describes a boots-on-the-ground view of the Clone Wars, with the squad traveling to both unfamiliar and recognizable locations. Lucasfilm Games Executive Producer Orion Kellogg described Hawks as “a character we haven’t seen before, a role we haven’t seen before” in the StarWars.com reveal interview.

What is the setting and story about?
The game takes place in the twilight of the Clone Wars, as the conflict between the Republic and Separatists nears its end. EA’s launch announcement identifies the central threat as the Infinite Coil, a Separatist-aligned cult led by Kundri Fathom. Its actions are connected to the Shadow Plague.

The premise offers a new viewpoint on the era, centered on an unconventional hired squad rather than the familiar military leadership of the war. Kellogg cited the political intrigue of Andor, the gritty battles of Rogue One, and the wit and wisdom of A New Hope as influences on the game’s tone.
How does gameplay work?
Turn-based squad combat
Combat is built around planning. You position squad members and choose their actions turn by turn instead of directly controlling a character in real time. EA describes the game as a tactics experience distinct from action-focused Star Wars titles.

Recruitment and customization
You can recruit and customize squad members from a range of archetypes, including scoundrels, astromechs, and a Jedi. Hawks’ appearance and specialization can also be customized, according to EA’s official game page.
Relationships and combat synergies
Squad members develop relationships, and working together can unlock combat synergies. EA presents those bonds as part of the gameplay system as well as the story, so team composition and cooperation are intended to matter in missions.

Missions and between-mission decisions
The campaign includes tactical operations, investigations, and other mission types. Between missions, you prepare the team and make decisions at the company’s base of operations, which EA calls The Den. The official descriptions frame the experience as a story-led campaign combining character and narrative with tactical encounters; these are developer-described features, not independent gameplay findings.
Is Star Wars Zero Company single-player or multiplayer?
It is single-player only. EA Help says the game has no online or competitive multiplayer, online co-op, local or split-screen co-op, or other online social features. EA’s PC requirements do not list an online connection as a requirement, although downloading the game, installing updates, or using features of a particular platform may still require internet access.

Platforms, release date, and PC requirements
EA Help gives the worldwide release date as August 27, 2026. The game is available on PC through the EA app, Steam, and Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. EA’s launch announcement, published August 28, 2026, said the game was then available.
EA lists these PC memory, storage, and performance targets. Consult the current EA requirements guide for the full processor and graphics-card specifications before buying or upgrading hardware.

EA Help estimates that most players will take around 30 to 40 hours to complete the main story. EA notes that actual playtime varies with difficulty and a player’s experience with turn-based tactics; this is the company’s estimate, not an independently measured average.
Which editions are available, and can you buy a physical copy?
EA Help lists Standard and Deluxe editions. The Deluxe Edition adds cosmetic content and weapon themes. EA’s launch announcement also describes a Collector’s Edition with a themed Hasbro Black Series Thermal Detonator, a Steelbook, a desk mat, and other items. Launch-announcement prices are time-sensitive and are not a reliable guide to current pricing.
