It brings together tools and conventions for common frontend work, with the aim of reducing repeated setup while leaving developers free to adapt the pieces to their needs.
What ShaadKit is—and what it is not
ShaadKit is a public GitHub template repository maintained by Seyed Mojtaba Shadab, also known as ShaadCode. Its README presents it as a foundation for building applications, rather than a complete product ready to deploy as-is. The project is primarily frontend-focused; the author says it can be adapted for full-stack use, but that requires changes. See the ShaadKit repository.

The distinction matters: starting from ShaadKit means inheriting a particular set of defaults, not receiving an application whose security, performance, or scalability has been independently established. Whether those defaults suit a project depends on its requirements and on the changes a developer makes.
What the current README includes
The repository documents a broad web-development stack. Grouped by role, its listed tools and technologies are:
#1 Best Overall
- Application: Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
- UI and styling: Mantine, Mantine Hooks, Mantine Form, Tabler Icons, PostCSS, and CSS Modules.
- Data and validation: TanStack Query and Arktype.
- Internationalization: next-intl.
- Component development and testing: Storybook, Vitest, and Playwright.
- Code quality and analysis: ESLint, Stylelint, and Bundle Analyzer.
- Build and developer experience: Bun and React Compiler.
The README also describes browser testing, a Storybook accessibility addon, linting and formatting, environment validation, bundle analysis, and integrated Image and Anchor components. These are repository-documented capabilities, not results of independent tests. Check the README for the project’s current stack and feature descriptions, since repository contents can change.
Why the author built it
In his explanation of the project, Shadab describes a familiar source of friction: starting a Next.js project often means repeating setup for styling, linting, tests, Storybook, internationalization, a UI library, and project conventions. ShaadKit is his response to that repetition—a foundation that brings those choices together so developers can focus sooner on the application itself.
Rank #2
The author’s stated preference is not to require every feature in every project. The tools are intended to be available as a starting point, with developers able to use what fits and adapt or remove what does not. That flexibility is a design goal, not a guarantee that every component can be changed without work.

Why include internationalization and integrated components?
The author describes next-intl as useful not only for multilingual interfaces but also for centralizing static text. He also explains that ShaadKit integrates Next.js Image with Mantine Image and provides a next-intl Link integrated with the framework. These choices reflect the project’s approach to combining its selected tools; they are not evidence of measured performance advantages over other implementations.
Rank #3
Who might find ShaadKit useful?
The author identifies Next.js developers working on SaaS products, growing MVPs, production projects, multilingual applications, or projects where testing and component development matter as potential users. The fit is strongest when the documented defaults align with a team’s existing preferences and it values having these tools assembled in one starting point.
A more minimal setup may be a better fit if a project needs fewer defaults, a different UI library, or a distinct architecture. Feature-heavy boilerplates also occupy this broader landscape, but the available sources do not establish an independently evaluated, head-to-head comparison. Useful decision questions include:
Rank #4
- Do you want Mantine, or would another UI approach be a better fit?
- Will you use next-intl, Storybook, and the included testing tools?
- Are you comfortable adapting the foundation to your conventions?
- Do you need a frontend starting point, or a more complete full-stack application?
How to start a project
The README’s setup instructions call for Node.js 24 or later and the latest Bun. Because these requirements can change, confirm them in the repository before installing.
Recommended Free Tools
- Install Node.js 24 or later and the latest Bun.
- Clone the repository using the instructions shown on the GitHub repository page.
- In the cloned project directory, run
bun installto install dependencies. - Run
bun devto start the development server.
Those commands are the README’s documented setup path; they do not independently verify that the current repository will build or run successfully in every environment.

License and project scope
The repository states that ShaadKit is released under the MIT License and names Seyed Mojtaba Shadab (ShaadCode) as its builder and maintainer. That license statement applies to the project as described by its repository; it should not be read as a statement about the separate licenses of every dependency.
