It launched on October 30, 2025, and is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and GeForce NOW.
What kind of game is ARC Raiders?
ARC Raiders is an extraction game rather than a linear, single-player campaign. Each trip to the surface is a risk-and-reward run: gather useful materials and valuables, complete objectives, then reach an extraction point and get back to safety. If you do not make it out, the run can cost you the gear you brought along.

The danger comes from two directions. ARC machines patrol the surface, while human Raiders may be competing for the same supplies—or may choose to cooperate. Steam describes solo play and parties of up to three, with other survivors’ decisions adding uncertainty to each encounter. How does the gameplay loop work?

Speranza is the underground community where Raiders return between trips. At the workshop, players craft, repair, and upgrade equipment. Materials gathered topside, including parts from ARC machines, can support crafting; recovered loot can also be sold.

Go topside to scavenge and survive
On the surface, players search abandoned places for valuable loot and materials, complete objectives, and decide whether to fight or avoid ARC machines and other Raiders. The central choice is how much more to risk carrying: staying longer may turn up better rewards, but it also means more exposure to threats before extraction.
Build longer-term progress
Trader quests offer rewards and experience points. Skill points can be spent across three branches—Survival, Mobility, and Conditioning—while workshop upgrades and crafted equipment support future runs. This progression sits alongside the immediate stakes of each extraction attempt; it does not turn the game into a story campaign with a fixed sequence of missions.
Where is ARC Raiders set?
The game takes place on a lethal future Earth, but its official description does not give a precise calendar date. Its world is described as post-post-apocalyptic: remnants of Italy’s rich history exist alongside harsh infrastructure built for space travel. The contrast between familiar historical ruins and advanced technology shapes the surface setting.

What is the story of ARC Raiders?
ARC is a mechanized threat, but its origin is presented as a mystery in the game’s official overview. The story unfolds gradually rather than through a single exposition-heavy campaign. Trader quests introduce characters, their agendas, and their hopes for Speranza; remnants found in the world give Raiders clues about what happened before.
That makes the narrative something players piece together while pursuing loot and progression. The available official description does not provide a definitive explanation of ARC or a complete account of the story’s ending.

PC system requirements
Steam’s listed minimum requirements are Windows 10 or later (64-bit), 12 GB of RAM, DirectX 12, and a broadband internet connection. Its recommended specification lists 16 GB of RAM and a GeForce RTX 2070, Radeon RX 5700 XT, or Intel Arc B570. When did ARC Raiders launch?
ARC Raiders launched on October 30, 2025, according to its Steam listing. As of October 7, 2026, Embark’s news index says the Frozen Trail update is due October 8, 2026, and the official homepage lists a free-play period from October 8 through 12, 2026.
