Most DJI drones use the 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands for the aircraft-to-controller video link; some newer models also list 5.1 GHz. The exact bands depend on the aircraft, transmission system and country or region, so check the specifications for your model before assuming a band is available.
Which frequencies are used for DJI drone video transmission?
DJI specifications commonly list these frequency ranges for video transmission:
- 2.4 GHz: 2.4000–2.4835 GHz.
- 5.8 GHz: 5.725–5.850 GHz.
- 5.1 GHz: 5.170–5.250 GHz on some models and systems, subject to local rules.
These are frequency bands, not one fixed channel. DJI developer documentation describes OcuSync options as 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz or dual-band, and says automatic channel selection can adapt to the signal environment. That does not mean every DJI aircraft supports every band, dual-band operation or manual band selection. DJI Mobile SDK frequency-band documentation
Why does the answer vary by drone?
DJI aircraft use different transmission systems, including O2, O3 and O4, and their listed frequency ranges are not identical. For example, DJI’s comparison of selected Mini 3, Mini 3 Pro and Mini 4 Pro configurations lists 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz for O2/O3 examples, while its O4 example also lists 5.1 GHz, subject to local law. For a precise answer, find the specifications for the exact aircraft and controller combination. DJI’s DJI RC 2 specifications, for instance, list 2.4000–2.4835 GHz, 5.170–5.250 GHz and 5.725–5.850 GHz under video transmission. They list Wi-Fi separately, because it serves a different function.
How do country and region affect available bands?
Frequency use is subject to local regulations. DJI says operating frequency can vary by country or region, and its DJI RC support specifications specifically note that 5.8 GHz is unavailable in some locations. A band shown on a product’s general specification page is therefore not necessarily available for operation everywhere. Check the model’s regional specifications and the rules that apply where you fly. DJI RC specifications and compatible-aircraft information

Is this the same as the controller’s Wi-Fi or Bluetooth?
No. The aircraft-to-controller video link is distinct from the controller’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios. DJI RC 2 lists these functions in separate specification categories; a controller’s Wi-Fi frequency should not be mistaken for the drone’s video-transmission band. DJI RC 2 specifications

No. A frequency specification alone does not establish a reliable or universal transmission distance. DJI publishes distance figures separately and qualifies them by conditions and regulatory market. For example, DJI’s controller specifications include market-specific power information, while its agricultural T30 controller page gives separate OcuSync Industry Edition frequency, power and range details. That enterprise equipment specification should not be generalized to consumer drones. DJI RC 2 specifications DJI Agras T30 specifications

How to check your DJI model’s supported bands
- Identify the exact aircraft and controller. Similar model names can use different transmission systems or have different regional specifications.
- Open the official DJI specifications page for your region. Find the video-transmission or operating-frequency entry, rather than relying on a general product summary.
- Check the regional caveats. Confirm whether each listed band is permitted and available where you will fly.
- Keep link and range specifications separate. Use the stated transmission-distance conditions and market qualifications for range; do not infer distance from the frequency alone.
