It is separate from Samsung’s Device Care app, which checks and maintains a Galaxy phone. The exact app version and availability can vary by Samsung model and software configuration.
What Device Health Services does
The app’s published description, reproduced by APKMirror, says: “Device Health Services predicts how long your phone’s battery will last based on your usage.” That describes its stated purpose; it does not guarantee that a battery estimate will be exact or establish that every Samsung model behaves identically. APKMirror’s Device Health Services listing identifies the app as version 1.27.0.731092006.release.

On one Galaxy S10+ LTE (G975U) application inventory, Samsung Knox lists Device Health Services as package com.google.android.apps.turbo and records a version for that configuration. That is evidence for that particular inventory, not a universal package-version guarantee for all Galaxy phones. Samsung Knox’s Galaxy S10+ LTE application list is the relevant device-specific reference.

How it differs from Samsung Device Care
| App | Publisher or identity | Documented purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Device Health Services | Google system app; package com.google.android.apps.turbo on the cited Galaxy S10+ LTE configuration |
Its published description says it estimates remaining battery life from usage. |
| Device Care | Samsung Electronics | Checks and maintains a Galaxy phone. Samsung also documents a route from Device Care to Samsung Members diagnostics on a specific device update. |
Samsung describes Device Care as an app for checking and maintaining a Galaxy phone. A Samsung update note for the SM-A426U documents access to Samsung Members diagnostics from Device Care; availability and menu details may depend on the device and software. Samsung’s SM-A426U update notice describes that route. Similar names do not mean the apps are the same or share internal code.

How to check whether it is on your phone
- Open Settings → Apps. Menu names can vary by One UI version.
- Search for Device Health Services. If it does not appear, the app may not be present or visible in that configuration.
- Open the app’s details. If your phone exposes a package identifier in its app information or an authoritative device-management view, check whether it is
com.google.android.apps.turbo. Do not assume that the cited Galaxy S10+ inventory establishes the version on your phone.
What to do if it appears to use battery
The available documentation does not establish that Device Health Services is responsible for unusually high battery use on a particular phone. Check per-app battery usage in your phone’s settings and consult support information for your exact model before changing a system app. A battery estimate function alone is not evidence that the app is causing excessive drain.
The available evidence also does not establish a current permissions list or the effects of disabling or removing this package across Samsung models. Avoid disabling or removing it based only on its name or a battery reading; behavior may differ by model and software configuration.

What the dated release note says
Google’s release-note archive has a Device Health Services entry dated 2024-03-18 for version 1.26.0.615753072, with the note “General bug fixes and performance optimizations.” This is a historical entry, not confirmation of the latest release or the version installed on a Samsung phone. Google’s System Services release notes archive provides the dated entry.
