Haier’s official global portfolio lists seven appliance-brand groups, not six: Haier, Casarte, Leader, GE Appliances, Fisher & Paykel, AQUA and CANDY. Here are six of those brands, with the important distinction that Haier acquired GE’s home-appliance business—not General Electric as a whole. Brand lineups and availability vary by market.
Which six Haier-owned appliance brands should you know?
The following six are part of the seven-brand portfolio Haier identifies globally. This is a selection, not an exhaustive list; Haier itself is the seventh brand in that portfolio.

| Brand | What the official sources establish |
|---|---|
| GE Appliances | Haier Smart Home says it acquired General Electric’s U.S. home-appliance business in 2016. This refers to the appliance business, not all of General Electric. Haier Smart Home, 2024 Annual Report |
| Fisher & Paykel | The annual report says Haier acquired the New Zealand company in 2018; it also says the business had been entrusted to Haier Group since 2015. Haier Smart Home, 2024 Annual Report |
| CANDY | The annual report says Haier acquired the Italian company in 2019. Haier Smart Home, 2024 Annual Report |
| AQUA | Listed as a brand in Haier’s current global portfolio and in Haier Smart Home’s seven-brand cluster. These sources do not establish a specific acquisition date. Haier, About Haier; Haier Smart Home, 2024 Annual Report |
| Casarte | Listed in the current portfolio and the annual report’s brand cluster. Haier’s filing describes it as premium-positioned in its China-market example. Haier, About Haier; Haier Smart Home, 2024 Annual Report |
| Leader | Listed in the current portfolio and the annual report’s brand cluster. The filing includes it in an example of segmentation for China. Haier, About Haier; Haier Smart Home, 2024 Annual Report |
Is GE Appliances owned by Haier?
Yes. Haier Smart Home’s 2024 annual report states that it acquired General Electric’s U.S. home-appliance business in 2016. That transaction concerns the appliance business operating as GE Appliances; it should not be read as Haier buying General Electric’s entire company. The annual report is the source for the acquisition detail: Haier Smart Home, 2024 Annual Report.
Why do Haier’s brands differ by country?
Haier describes a multi-brand strategy that serves different customer segments and markets. Its annual report gives China as an example, with Casarte, Haier and Leader positioned for different user segments. Its U.S. lineup example includes Monogram, Café, GE Profile, GE, Haier and Hotpoint. Those examples are not a promise that each brand or product is available everywhere; regional lineups and positioning differ. Haier Smart Home, 2024 Annual Report
